It could easily be argued that Barr is the ultimate insider and swamp critter. He worked for the CIA and is a member of that fraternity of spooks and traitors. No, they are not all traitors, but they are all spooks and became that only by playing the game. He is not in the class of the CIA man John Kiriakou, a conscientious man who could take it no more and became a whistleblower.
