    To summarize people who think they are disadvantaged are more likely to support populist ideologies and ideologues and an unrealistic view of the greatness of their nation.

    So you are claiming that blacks and Latinos are nationalists for which President Trump has their support? Or is this just another thing that white people are racists and none of the principle applies to anyone else?

    I think it is simpler than that. donald appealed to baser instincts by offering the sheeple a simplistic scapegoat (Mexicans, Chinese, etc.) for their situation. People who are frustrated and stupid are often more than willing to take the cue of that nationalist leader to scapegoat other groups. How many times have we seen that card played in history?

    The Dems were not effective in demonstrating that it has been Republican "trickle down" and "business can regulate itself" policies -- the same ones donald proposes -- that have resulted in middle class stagnation. An astonishingly high number of middle class workers believed that Democrats have done nothing more for them than Republicans, despite the massive record to the contrary.

    Also, the Republicans were effective in sabotaging the economy and blaming Obama for it.

    I kind of agree although the Trump strategy of scapegoating others ( immigrants, blacks, mexicans, etc) was a significant part of Trump's plan to convince white People that they were somehow disadvantaged and thus happened what the article suggests.

    This is hilarious! We're almost a year after the election and the left still hasn't figured out what happened! They keep trying to come up with little theories and conspiracies to explain why their worldview fell apart. Well keep at it guys, it will be an amusing 3 plus years.
