Believer or not, your epitome of desire, is to be named the Greatest I am.

Religions are tribes. So are the various non-believing tribes.

Tribal leaders and shaman are the ones to be emulated by all of us so that we might become better than they are and depose them.

It’s like Jesus ascending and retiring God by taking the righthand judges’ seat. Jesus, in effect; deposed his father. As things should be in a hierarchical progressive species like ours.

Leaders and shaman are the only ones who can claim being Greatest I am at any given point in time.

Religiously speaking, we want to and are encouraged by scriptures to try to emulate whatever we think of as God. God’s best-known speaker is analogically, Greatest I am.

Individually speaking, even you were born, instinctively speaking; thinking you were the fittest of your genetic line. In that sense, your ultimate raison d'être and dream, even if you can come up with some other analogy in religious terms; is you want to be known as the greatest at something, including God.

Upon birth, your first thought was, I am.

Your second thought was, where is the Greatest I am so that I might be his friend, and depose him with better justice?

Who are the fittest you are now to compete with, to prove your fitness, is your next enlightenment.

This is all of us seeking idols to emulate and depose the current icon in our chosen competitions.

Jesus asks us to idolize ourselves, loosely of course, by asking us in scriptures, “have ye forgotten that ye are Gods?”

I have not given up my spiritual, religious, or political efforts to be seen as the greatest at something.

I am not Jesus, but I am curious. Have you given up on your religious birth rite to be a god?

    That would disappoint Jesus.

Have you given up your genetic birth rite to be the fittest and excel in some field?

That would disappoint your ancestors. They came from nature and nature demonstrably creates for the best possible end.

I see it as a shame when someone stops competing to be the greatest at something.

    Regards
    DL

Believer or not, your epitome of desire, is to be named the Greatest I am.
    Cougarbear: I don't believe it...
It’s like Jesus ascending and retiring God by taking the righthand judges’ seat. Jesus, in effect; deposed his father.
Cougarbear: No, you are wrong. He didn't take anything. He sat beside the Father on his right side. He said that His Father is greater than He. So, no. You are wrong.
Upon birth, your first thought was, I am.
Cougarbear: No, my first thought was I'm hurting and cold?
Your second thought was, where is the Greatest I am so that I might be his friend, and depose him with better justice?
Cougarbear: No, my second thought was I'm hungry and where's the milk?
Jesus asks us to idolize ourselves, loosely of course, by asking us in scriptures, “have ye forgotten that ye are Gods?”
Cougarbear: The rest of the quote is that "Did I not say ye are gods and children of the most High (God)" Meaning, we are capable of inheriting all the Father has, but never deposing God. In other words, we are gods in embryo. Our Father in Heaven will always be our Father God.
I see it as a shame when someone stops competing to be the greatest at something.
Cougarbear: I have no problem with your statement. But, it has nothing to do with God.

Anything can be a god. Unlike animals and inanimate objects, humans have the capacity to think in terms of “I am a god,” and project that thought onto the universe.

The desired result is directly proportional to the faith that one has in the thought itself.

Analogically speaking, as the fittest in your terms, God is your own ideal of perfection. You do not speak this language so use whatever label you like.

    Good man, average man, etc.

I had a giggle when reading your words.

You did not like my I am, and offered I'm, which is, I am.

    Regards

If you include supernatural in your description of god, I disagree.

I do not like faith. It is counter to reason and logic. It is anti intelligent if we tie smart to intelligent. It leads to inquisitions and jihads.

I guess you are saying that no one even has a smidge of faith or a Jesus mind, as scriptures say that any that do could do all Jesus did and more.

Your type of thinking of projecting has no proof of concept and has failed to date.

Except perhaps myself, but no one believes my apotheosis. It involves telepathy and just another rung up Jacob's ladder.

I just know there is a ladder.

I am not an atheist, but if can put medals on the chests of all atheists who perished under god's orders, or his putrid genocidal god loving clergy, inquisition using bastards, I would.

Can you afford that much brass and steal.

Believer is the word that insults intelligence. Not Atheist.

It has nothing to do with me, silly. It’s whatever anyone’s own personal description of whatever “god” is. If you want it to be “supernatural,” then I’m not trying to stop you! Go with it!

Indeed, and things like “reason” and “logic” lead to incel losers who are wondering why they have no girlfriend and still work the same lame 8-5 office job, despite them scoring a perfect SAT score in highschool.

The modern world today isn’t upside-down because of religion, that’s for sure....

You cannot be more wrong. Just one example can totally nullify your argument: the Pyramids. Scientists to this day still can’t figure out how the Ancient Egyptians built them. But that’s only because they (like yourself) have their heads stuck so far up their asses that they cannot see beyond the rational perspective of things, and ergo are prohibited from drawing from the realm of celestial wonders.

In other words, your praise and reliance on intellect and logic is a reflection of your prominent ego. This is why the ancients were walking on water, while modern man can’t microwave a freaking burrito.

I agree that to nullify my view would take an example.

Which makes me right, given that no proof of concept has been offered.

    Note how logos trumps mythos.

Logic and reason, over the faith of the gullible, --- who have let their material dualism run to the less intelligent side with false supernatural beliefs and outright lies.

Oh? So tell us how you can obtain logos without first obtaining mythos?

Only a fool says in his heart that there is no God and it would take a damn fool to think that they could elevate themself above him

I am a tribe of one. Am I a god? I have only myself as a potential worshiper.

What does it even mean to be a god, anyway? Do I get to define what a god is? Especially being in my very own tribe with its very own religion?

Truth be told, I have no desire to be a god or to believe in one. I am far beyond any need or desire for a god. I likely would never have stumbled upon the notion to begin with if it had not been for family and society driving it into me. Folks like me would not invent religion, let alone strive to become a god. At least, not outside of video games.

Isn't it amazing how deeply programmed we are as a sexually reproducing animal to value sex and reproduction as the pinnacle of success? Especially among us males.

You are not allowed to have beliefs outside the corporation and label it religion. You have to be part of a mob to qualify.
Reigion is not something invented, it describes an observation.
    Stay the course

In part, religion attempts to explain certain things humans experience personally or in the natural world, but it sadly does not do so scientifically, but rather... imaginatively. And then this nonsense gets declared the absolute truth not to be questioned on pain of death, and gets tied to notions of life after death and various moral and behavioral precepts, at which point it is more a way for a few people to grow powerful, fat and wealthy at the expense of the many who are brainwashed and coerced into going along with it all.

I believe I countered each of your points with facts, logic and sound reason. Each statement is backed by the Bible. So, I giggle at your own ideals that you can become greater than God. The same thing Lucifer (Satan) believed and maybe still believes.

I’d argue that it’s a reflection of success, not a “pinnacle” of it.
