No natural gas. No nukes. No coal. No wood.

I guess we need to hook up a generator to our stationary bicycles.

When was the last time California had "rolling blackouts" that weren't intentional shutdown due to extreme heat & wind/ wildfires? 2001. When did New Mexico have "rolling blackouts"? 2011 when power plants in Texas failed.

Please do yourself a favor and at least lookup evidence before making foolish claims.

Five or six weeks without power in some situations. When poles are down from the water's edge to 175 miles inland it's going to be rough. But we're ready.

Even a BORAG cyclist can only put out about 600 watts for a very short duration.

Foolish claims? I lived in CA during rolling blackouts. And I lived there when they offered people a discount on their electric bill if the power company can turn off your AC when they need to.

I’ve never had a rolling black out during my two years in El Paso and 5 years in NM.

And a failed power plant is not a rolling blackout. What idiot told you it was?

Please do yourself a favor and at least lookup evidence before making foolish claims.

By the way, an intentional shut down of power IS a rolling blackout. Do your research before making foolish posts and fire the guy who's feeding you this low IQ garbage. Educate yourself.

You live in the state that invented rolling blackouts, you don't really know what they are and pretend you do just to defend a stupid decision by an ultra liberal city that literally helps no one. Now I know how you roll, you will defend anything your lib masters put in front of you even when you don’t know what it is, and that explains a lot about your immigration stance.

Your state has rolling blackouts unrelated to the danger of fire where utility companies intentional shut off the electricity. Why has New Mexico had more blackouts than California? Too bad New Mexico has to depend on Texas for power. Do you feel angry with the way Texas treats your state?

I've had no black outs, rolling or otherwise. Do you feel angry that you were educated on what a rolling blackout is? Must be embarrassing since you don't seem to know the difference between a rolling blackout and and outage. And here you are lecturing me on something you're not educated enough to discuss.

Cut your losses and quit now.

They buy it from somebody else and don't care how the electricity is made.

I agree, I like having gas as a primary and electricity as a backup for heat

I guess CA doesn't have the winters we have, I do not think my state would ever do this

California gets 16% of it's power from renewables today. Half is the goal by the end of the next decade.

    Stop living in fantasy land.

Oh, I don't know. Might agree with this one where the population is concentrated or the topography combined with typical weather patterns doesn't allow for dispersal of the smoke. This one might be valid.

I can sort of see the restrictions on wood burning. SoCal has about the worst air quality in the entire country. It is kind of shocking if you visit there after living in a place with decent air quality.

Well, rolling blackouts are very rare anyway. During high wind events, like the conditions that Paradise experienced, it is vital for utilities to cut the power. Pacific Gas & Electic didn't act quickly enough and 86 people were killed. Now the governor is willing to bail out PG&E.

More liberal fascism. Can't allow property owners any freedom. Is anyone going to challenge this ruling? Seems as though such totalitarian measures would infringe on some freedom or other...
