Not that I drink anymore but the equation I used to use standing in the shop trying to work out what was the best deal was this :

BF = Volume in ml. * % aclochol / price in pence

BF = Booze Factor, the higher the number the better.

Of course you can swap ml. for fl oz. & pence for cents just so long as you are consistant.

If you can score a BF of 25+ these days you will be getting a very good deal....

That's not how Winston approached Booze. He was a Tippler.Meaning he
drank small amounts all day.I don't believe he had any one particular
liquor, besides champagne and port.He drank champagne even with meats.
Of course he had his cigars as well.Lived to be 91.

Vodka is also the most efficient of all hard liquor. It goes to work the
fastest and eliminates from the body the quickest.
It is also hard to get used to.Meaning, drinking straight is not
something easy to accommodate oneself. It has a bite.
I had a drink of something that was given as a gift to
person who married by ex-sister-in-law.The guy got it while
in the military as a present from some officer in the Military.
It was some kind of Homemade hooch from Lebanon.
It looked just like vodka. The bottle was kinda homemade looking
as well. That vodka looking hooch when mixed with just a little water
turned white.I had never seen anything like it.It was very strong and
aromatic.Had the consistency and look of milky sap that comes from
    certain plants.I don't have any idea'r how a clear liquid { looked like vodka }
with adding just a little water could turn milky.

The biggest problem with vodka is that it’s hard to stop once you get going. Beer, wine, even absinthe are difficult to get to a dangerous blood alcohol level.
I’m sure people will disagree about this.

I figgered what the heck.I looked up what this vodka hooch from
the Middle East must have been.
It is a Homemade version of Moonshine.
It does have a licorice scent.
    It's called ... Arak

If I could drink anything regularly it would be absinthe but it’s so heavy and syrupy that more than a couple drinks will make you feel miserable.

I love Malbec the best among wines but the same problem.

Guiness is the only beer worth drinking but it’s like eating a loaf of bread so it’s pretty much impossible to overdo.

    It is a drink that is so common and available { varies greatly in price }
it's a great way for a lush to get off.I remember Dick Van Dyck did a made
for TV movie about a family man who lived in the suburbs and was a
an alcoholic.I remember his drink of choice.Good old Vodka.
In - Days of Wine & Roses - { 1962 } it went from scotch to Gin.
Because Gin was cheap.Eventually a lush has to concern themselves with
    cost.Another example was the movie - Oldboy - { 2013 } starring Josh Brolin.
He would purchase a pint of vodka and jug in order to avoid his unpleasant
    memories.

About 12 years ago Guiness came out with a Draft Guiness in the can.
It was virtually deplorable.About the worst major beer introduction in my
memory.Guiness actually is not high in alc.The Guiness in Ireland and England
may be higher in alc.But Guiness is actually around the same potency or Lower
than standard American pilsners like Miller or Bud.

I read somewhere that no physical harm has ever been shown to people drinking the equivalent of 1.5 ounces or about 45 ml of pure ethyl alcohol per day. So three standard shots or three regular beers or 2 or three glasses of wine.

That figure is now in dispute as being too high but this is also the age of extraordinary attention to complete safety.

I've got a gallon of mango wine fermenting from mangos I hand squeezed from a friends tree. Should be tasty.

    I say { insist } don't engage in drinking games.It's stupid and
sophomoric. When in college at a frat party it may be next to impossible
to avoid the peer pressure of drinking games.
Don't drink stuff other's insist on.Drink what you like.
Don't experiment. The quickest way to get turned off by alcohol is
by pressure.Drinking what others think you should.Or when.
Drinking too much leads to bad things.Like throwing-up or
having the head spins when in bed. Then the next day hangover.
Nicholas Cage won his Academy Award for a performance I consider
    silly.In - Leaving Las Vegas - { 1996 }. He travelled around with a big
suitcase loaded with all kinds of different booze. He musta drank 5 or 6
different type booze each day. From Gin to Rum to Scotch to whisky.
That is not how a Drunkard operates. They Have a preference.
Like a Wino_Or a Beer Drunk { supposedly the hardest type alchy to
    cure }.

Bourbon is now the big favorite all over the block.
For some reason Bourbon has exploded the last few years.
They must have opened a new Bourbon refinery each month the
last 3 years. They are also ruining Bourbon.Like Flavoring it.
Jim Beam no longer offers a Green or Black label.
Rye is currently the New BMOC.Check out the prices of the
new Rye's.Used to be Rye was the most affordable of Whisky.
    Rye's now run closer to $ 90 a fifth than $ 20.

Didn't suggest anybody do anything. There's different liquor for different occasions.

    Dinner? Wine not bourbon
After dinner? Perhaps Sherry, Creme de Menthe, or Kahlua
Cigars? Bourbon or Good I mean really good scotch
At the game? home or away it's beer

For fun? Ever had Fireball? Schnapps? Personal Favorite Margarita/no salt

If one is worried about the effects, do pot.

She's vigorously fermenting, smells like it will be about 12 to 13% From what I hear, it wont get any stronger as any higher content kills the yeast. I only used about a third of a teaspoon.

As far as scotch goes- The Famous Grouse - Smoky Black. Its on par with Aberlour (according to my palate) but at half the price.

Best budget booze in my cabinet is Kirkland brand (Costco) small batch bourbon. 101 proof, made by a well.known distillery, tasty, and cheap

Jameson is my go to whiskey for a good balance between value and taste. $25-30 a bottle is a decent price and sometimes I'll splurge a bit more on the Caskmates version but that's about as much as I'll spend on a bottle.

I've had some premium whiskeys before, tried that award winning Japanese whiskey that was like $250 a bottle or something. It was good but it wasn't $250 a bottle good.

Now if you just want to get drunk for cheap then go grab yourself a few bottles of Boones farm or Mad Dog 2020 or some cans of white claws or whatever other sweet "eww alcohol tastes icky so lets make it taste like kool aid" drinks. Be warned though, those types of drinks are designed for young human bodies that can process that type of crap. If you are over the age of 30 and you drink more than like 2 of those things and you will feel like you are going to ****ing die for the next 72 hours minimum. Never in the history of my entire life have I ever felt worse the day after drinking than when my young coworkers invited me to their house party to drink with them....I'm a guy who routinely sits on the couch on the weekends and drinks multiple glasses of whiskey and ice and watches TV and wakes up early the next day to go fishing (yeah don't judge me). I had a total of TWO of those damn fruity pebbles drinks with those kids on a Friday night and I was still dying on Monday night.

    That's a long three days.

I distinctly remember the weekend I swore never to drink Bud Light (or any other AB product) again.

I had like four Bud Lights one Sunday evening I think it was and woke up with a smashing migraine.

They put chemicals in their product, anti-foaming agents for example.

I don't do hard liquor much.

    I'm currently doing Coors Light.

It's my version of flavored water.
