Biden not yet holding a formal news conference raises accountability questions

What do we think? Seems obvious that he is totally incapable of taking unplanned questions. It's the first time in 100 years that a President has waited this long!

Trump was the most transparent president in my lifetime. To a political fault because he would say something that pissed people off. He was always doing rallies, pressers and daily on twitter. A free country does not need a president in hiding we need a president who speaks to America and to the press. Biden is a total joke!

Trump is responsible for these vaccines. 36 million doses were already given when Joe took office. Joe has had to do nothing to get 100 million doses given by now. He had nothing to do with all those hospital beds that were built a year ago and hardly used. He had nothing to do with the surplus of ventilators that were built.

Joe was against the travel ban to and from China. For Joe Biden to go in front of the American people and lie that Trump ignored this crisis is disgusting. for people to vote for such a worthless pos is disgusting.

 

If it ain't preplanned and scripted to the nth degree it ain't gonna be allowed to happen, all we can expect.

Yes, because not doing a single press conference for 50 days is what REAL Presidents act like!

 

I wouldn't frame it as an accountability issue; this is more an image-maintenance issue that Biden has suffered since he began campaigning, only now it is becoming apparent to mainstream consumers of news media.

If you recall, Biden often got into arguments with voters and journalists on the campaign trail. It made him look short-fused, or at least irritable. His campaign became largely digital and superficial and he struggled to maintain a desirable image. Yeah, he jogged out on-stage to give his victory speech and he has the dog thing going, but his personable, energetic, warm-hearted image becomes hollow if he never lets people interact with it in an unplanned manner. With Trump out of the picture, it becomes a bigger problem. Where Trump was ham-fisted with news media, Biden is avoiding their scrutiny altogether, and it won't take long for that to backfire, kinda like procrastinating on being punched in the face even though you know it's coming one way or another.

I guess we'll see if he changes his strategy during the "Help is Here" tour.

He has spent a lot of face time with the American people.

But now we have FEMA staffed vaccine operations doing thousands a day and CVS opening thousands of pharmacies to help more rural areas. A far cry from Trumps plan to drop off the vaccine at the airport and then go golfing.

Oh, so Biden gets credit for what CVS are doing, but Trump doesn't get credit for what the companies which made the vaccine did? How about neither should get credit?

One of Trumps mistakes was to take over the press conferences because he thought it would provide for free campaign speeches. However, he said some of his most ridiculous lines during those pressers and in the end he was persuaded to stop.

But that was his last year, the campaign year.
