Biden prepares rules to limit ICE arrests, deportations

Due to limited resources, DHS cannot respond to all immigration violations or remove all persons unlawfully in the United States," the memo reads. "Rather, DHS must implement civil immigration enforcement based on sensible priorities and changing circumstances."

The DHS change took effect Feb. 1 and attempted to place a 100-day halt on removals except under certain circumstances – before a judge shut down the policy.

Democratic Texas Rep. Henry Cuellar told "America's News Headquarters" Sunday that he had called the White House to raise concerns about the new administration's immigration policy.

The policy change would mean officers no longer seek deportations for immigrants convicted of drunken driving and assault and will weaken ICE’s ability to arrest wanted immigrants at correctional facilities.

ICE would cease to pursue deportations of convicted drug criminals, DUI drivers, low-level assaulters, fraudsters and thieves, according to a memo from acting director Tae Johnson obtained earlier by the Washington Post.

"They’ve abolished ICE without abolishing ICE," an unnamed official told the paper.

Let me untie the other half of my brain from behind my back and wrap it around this enlightened progressive liberal Democratic directive - we gonna keep Illegal Alien assaulters, drag addict, DUI drivers, fraudsters and thieves in this country and not deport them? Meaning what, we gonna give them due process, put them through the courts and jails, convict them, let them serve their time and release them, or just let them out on probation into America? Would it not cost American taxpayer more than just to ship them out where they came from?

Drunk driving seems to be the national pastime of illegals. Comrade Biden's order will mean more Americans are killed by illegals.

Can anyone name one thing Biden has done so far that benefits America and Americans.

Yes, but the Democratic Governors order their law enforcement not to cooperate with federal authorities, and so all of a sudden, Illegal Aliens are enjoying the same legal rights and privileges as any American - to be tried, to be jailed and released into America.

I have an undocumented family member with a drug arrest in his early 20s. Got deported and came back. He’s a good dad and husband, no more drugs and has 5 citizen kids. No reason to deport him.

 

No. I don't agree with that...well except for states ordering law enforcement not to cooperate with federal officials. I agree with that because the supreme court has already ruled their right to do so.

 

The legal right to not cooperate with our immigration authorities (an oxymoron in itself) does not make it a right thing to do. But hey, Democrats will do anything to protect, grow and groom their future voter base.

In Japan if you blow so much as 0.03 you can be fined upwards of $5000, be handed a 2-3 year jail sentence. Blow 0.045+ and you're looking at $15,000+ in fines, 5+ years in jail, typically lose your license for an additional period of 5 years, and the state informs your employer and any creditors so they may take action against you as well.

In the US you can blow up to a 0.08 in most places and get away with it, I've even heard stories of cops letting people go with results of 0.10. And if you're an illegal, who blows a 0.15+, has no insurance, has no identification, and is driving around in a blue state, the cops know the only thing they can do is cut them loose, give them directions to the welfare office (and the voter registration office) and alert fire & rescue that an accident is imminent.

 

Will Biden administration do even this much? Hell, no - some Democrats are saying, Illegal Aliens are more Americans that we are.

So, what is left on the books for which Illegal Alien can be deported? Could one be deported for shouting on street corner, “Trump was a good President”?
