    If you have a problem with a specific candidate's position, you vote for someone else?

    And, you have the freedom to vote as you have wish?

    Why waste time complaining?

    If you don't like something, vote for the other person.

    I dislike either candidate just like in 2016, when will we get a decent person to run for office and not these old farts that refuse to give up power and are poor leaders?

    Lincoln did not want to tempt those States into joining the Confederates cause, so he left them out of the Proclamation. The Proclamation itself was a temporary war measure. Later it had to be codified into law with the 13th Amendment to the Constitution. Congress officially outlawed slavery when it passed the Thirteenth Amendment. (in Jan,1865.)

    Does that clear it up for you?

    I do notice how when I was growing up it was the Dems who flew the confederate flags(1960's-'70's) but now it is the Republicans that do it. It's just heritage yet look at how the so called Republicans in this thread act, like it is the Dems that are racist, to be factual anyone can be racist and biased there is no such thing as a neutral because even God has his favs..

    Racism in the USA hasn't been based on political party. It has been based on skin color. African-Americans were oppressed no matter what party they belonged to. They say Rev. Martin Luther King was a Republican---it didn't help keep him alive did it?

    It seems rather a waste of time to re-litigate the Ancient History of the Civil War.

    The FACT of the matter is:

    That ever since 1964 (when the South turned Republican and Dixiecrat Strom Thurmond switched to the Republican Party) most of the opposition to things benefiting Black Americans has come from the GOP.

    Why? it is important to clarify and clear up the lies being spread about that war and how the Democrats who lost the Civil war founded the KKK and never really aspired to equal rights for all citizens.

    Telling lies about our history would be as bad as saying the US bombed Tokyo, thus starting WW2. Lies are lies and they should be cleared up. If more people told the truth and studied real history, not their perversion of what really happened, this country and it's citizens would be in a much better place.

    Facts matter. Telling the truth and not spreading fake news should be first and foremost.
