"The Trumps sent the butlers home when they left so there would be no one to help the Bidens when they arrived."

“So petty,” the official reportedly added.....

Notably, the chief usher Timothy Harleth who had been scheduled to welcome the Bidens to the White House in the absence of Mr Trump, had been also abruptly fired five hours earlier.

I sincerely wish I could say that I'm shocked. I'm not. In fact, I would be shocked if he didn't do something like this.

The lame duck / transition period needs to be re-vamped so that the outgoing president doesn't have so much control.

And, yet, somehow, by a miracle, this has never really been an issue since this country was founded. Many rules will have to be revamped based solely on Trump's selfishness and pettiness.

His cult will never acknowledge the outrage they would have felt if Obama had done even half the things.

    As EXPECTED.

    Absolutely CLASSLESS.

This is what happen when a Person (TRUMP)...
...Who is the Lowest Form of Excrement...
...is Mistakenly-Elected (to an office that he had no business ever occupying)...

Donald Trump is a Form of Excrement, which is so LOW:

    That (in comparison):

Whale Droppings at the Bottom of the Mariana Trench appear Celestial.

In terms of "petty", and the incident in the OP:
Nothing would ever surprise me from that Immature, Mentally-Unstable, Sociopathic, Infantile, MORON.

I find it unimaginable, that anybody still exists (on the face of the planet) who is willing to "defend" Trump (or his Administration) on any level.

    And, one thing is CERTAIN:

Donald Trump Will NEVER Again be the U.S. President.
(Regardless of what happens at the Impeachment Trial).

Also, in the future, when Former Presidents are invited to ceremonial events (like Future Inaugurations) it is clear that Trump is Totally Undeserving of Breathing the same air as Carter, Clinton, GW Bush, Obama, or Biden.

Depending on what happens with the second impeachment, we may have to face the demon again in the next election. I'd prefer it if we revamp the rules sooner rather than later to avoid this kind of nonsense in the future.

Mary Trump recalled that at a diner party a member of the family brought up an incident from Trump's childhood(7 years old) when his brother dumped a bowl of mashed potatoes on his head.

Everyone enjoyed this bit and laughed...except for the Child-in-Chief who did his FULL FRONTAL MUSSOLINI with arms folded across his chest and a scowl on his face....still sulking 70 years later !

I suppose that "anything is possible".

That Said, I don't think that Trump has a prayer of being renominated in 2024.

Not only would Trump LOSE (in an even Bigger Landslide than 2020), but, another Trump Nomination would send the GOP headed to a crushing defeat (all up and down the ballot)

I hope you're right. I vacillate between thinking he (1) honestly knows that he didn't get the votes but is angry about it and (2) he really lives inside his own head and thinks he was robbed. Neither mental condition is good for holding office again.

Impeachment conviction requires 2/3rd supermajority of the Senate.

Once again, with a Deranged Sociopath (like Trump), anything is possible.

That said, if Trump.chose to seek the Nomination, he would clearly start out as the Frontrunner.

In the Primary, he would clearly possess enough of a "hard-core base" to prevail in a multi-candidate field.

If Trump does choose to run, the only way that the "Anti-Trump" forces in the GOP could stop him would be to agree on One "Anti-Trump" candidate (early in the process).

A multi-candidate field (that splits the Anti-Trump Vote) will only help Trump.

And, back to the OP, Trump's action involving the Butler was abhorrent.

Correct. So, it's looking like that won't happen unless some Republicans (I think someone said 17) vote for it.

I didn't see anything that suggests Biden is whining or angry about this.

    Yes, I am actually.

And, I (personally) examined the patient (when I was practicing in Manhattan in the Mid-90s).

Anyway, back to the OP topic of Trump being "petty", it really is completely unsurprising given Trump's complete CLASSLESSNESS (which Trump has always exhibited).
