How many millions of Africans have starved to death, died from Aids, hacked each other to death with machetes etc. While the slaves and their descedant's prospered?
I fully agree and make that case very often. As to the slaves, I believe you are a victim of the film industry. I have spoken of great men having slaves beaten. When is time, the only time in fact, that you saw George Washington used as a slave beating owner? I brought that up. It seems some in order to prove slavery existed, must waddle on and on over the treatment. We believe slavery existed. But was it the hollywood version or is there a lot more to it than that? I think stupid owners were in the habit of slave beatings. Jefferson himself instructed that his slaves not get beat. Now, make some truly comments about George Washington. I dare you to. I dare you to make evil remarks about the 12 presidents that owned slaves. Bash the heck out of all of them. My army days were filled by being told what to do by NCO and officers. Any person in the army that says they could simply do what they wanted to do is lying. I worked for a commanding officer. I typed up the duty roster as I believe the first sgt determined who was on duty. I assure you the troops got pissed when they got duty. I put one guys name on the KP roster and he refused to show up. I got the thankless job of telling him to his face to either show up or be courts martialed. He decided we were going to fight. I had to beat his butt. He did sucker punch me but I made him pay dearly for that. I served the US Army in Schweinfurt Germany for my permanent duty station. HQ/HQ Ist Bn, 30th infantry and was the unit company clerk. I was in the thick of military discipline. I think I know something about how it was in the 1960s.
O'Reilly never misses a chance to slander black people. There are countless videos of him doing it so his comments can't be taken out of context. He hates black people.
Mostly from my minor in History, which I never used. Additionally, history books, before political correctness, did tell a different story, one unacceptable by today's political ideology. I do wish you would explain, what you disagree with. Twisted story is a little hard to argue with, so what's twisted...American's should not be proud, their ancestors gave them a break, or the possibility, servants or slaves were not starved, but fed well for whatever reason, to breed or work.
Who knew that the world's problems could be cured by simply making poor people slaves for hundreds of years. Slavery = the cure for hunger & disease!. Become a slave and get rich! Slavery = the solution that ends violence! Those are nice slogans. Jefferson should have included them in the Declaration of Independence.
If your suggesting Slave Owners, may have romanced their slaves, I'd agree, but raped and beaten, seems a poor method to get work done. Slave owners, some black, probably did lose a little sleep, trying to make sure his workers were fed, clothed, housed, from infancy to death, which was a lot longer in America, than in Africa.
You may have minored in history, but you majored in His-Story. What were the slaves well fed? Come to the South and go to some of the old plantations and look at the elaborate quarters the slaves lived in and check out the diet they were forced to live from.
Did you honestly use the word "romanced"? Like they wined and dined and courted them? Holy cow. They raped them and forced them to bear children who they then sold to the highest bidder because that is good business. And it was all perfectly legal. They beat slaves and hobbled slaves that tried to escape because that was good for business.
Then speak up; I'm not black, but I'm grateful my ancestors came from England/Germany to what became the US in 1717 on a Virginia Company Land Grant. I'm also sure, many descendents of people from around the world, not just black, are grateful, as well. This notion, that slaves and/or servants were mistreated in total, is fictitious. That would be saying all employers today are this or that, or treat people differently.
This is simply a flat out lie. You can say the moon is made of green cheese too if you like but that too would also be a flat out lie
