It appears that the incoming president of Brazil feels that the people should have the right to defend themselves. This will be an interesting year to watch as Brazil has a very high crime rate and the right for legal citizens to now own a firearm should drive the crime rate down dramatically. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...ee-allowing-wider-gun-ownership-idUSKCN1OS0HN
I'm actually fascinated to see what happens. Brazil has suffered catastrophically high crime and violence despite strict gun laws; the stricter the law they enacted, the worse the crime and violence became. I am highly interested in what happens to crime and violence when the honest citizenry can shoot back.
First it was the nation of Canada doing away with its registry of non-restricted-type rifles and shotguns. Next it was the nation of Russia holding that personal defense against terrorist attacks warranted private citizens carrying firearms for their own personal defense. Now the nation of Brazil is contemplating undoing significant firearm-related restrictions. Perhaps the way the united states goes about doing business pertaining to firearms is starting to spread to the rest of the world? Is this only the beginning of a new trend?
I completely agree. Note how the Venezuelans now wish they had not turned them over to the government. This test in Brazil will not sit well with Michael Bloomberg and the millions and millions he has spent on anti gun bills.
That's an interesting reversal from earlier in 2018 when they authorized license to kill policing. They're going to stick marksmen everywhere with the right to plug anyone carrying that they spot, no questions asked.
It's definitely worth tracking. I wonder if the president is going to look at the causes of crime and do something about them.
Switzerland at least in comparison to the rest of the EU. The US when taking into account population and where most gun deaths are distributed.
Yeah the guy who has a 20 some armed squad of goons that guard him 24/7 says we shouldn't have firearms. Let's listen to that guy.
Brazil is looking to increase gun deaths. It takes a village to clean the streets. Erasing bad people is good for society.
