No one has been charged with "Insurrection." Which of our elected officials should be charged with Insurrection and why havn't they been?

I'm all for civics classes, as long as they're actually teaching US civics and not communist revolutionary theory...

Well, it's been a while since I was in law enforcement but I feel quite confident in saying the best way to deter insurrections is to punish people involved in insurrections.

Orange Jesus' groupies love to talk about how nobody arrested, charged or convicted has been charged with that specific crime and maybe it's time they should be. He's slimy and apparently, the only times he pays his debts is to have an equally slimy team of attorneys to keep him out of hot water. And, it doesn't take a mental health professional or military leader to tell us that anybody that gets away with all their dirty dealings has absolutely no reason to stop them.

 

The crimes of trump and his seditious cult have been enabled by the cowards in the repub party. If not held to account, they will surely try again in 2024.

The problem with proving insurrection is that it requires intent to overthrow the government. No one has been charged with it because they have no evidence that there was intent to do so. You can't even prove that Trump intended to incite the 1/6 riot. Yet you want to charge him with insurrection? GL on that.

 

I'm honestly not worried. By the next presidential election T**** will be so deep in criminal and bankruptcy courts he can't possibly be a candidate. In fact, I fully expect him to be on a yacht outside territorial US waters paid for by his PAC fund that keeps getting bigger by then.

Just like proving there was Russian Collusion, that annoying little bit was missing, evidence. And when something didn't happen, that little thing called evidence is nowhere to be found.

The planet can go over this a thousand times; Trump made a speech and told people to march peacefully, cheer on, make their voices heard. But the usual happens, people in a crowd can tend riot causing criminal damage. Rioters can be bankers, solicitors (lawyers) etc.. People just need to Google search about the psychology of people on crowds.

I applaud your faith in the justice system, but the rich in America often get to skate from their crimes.

If someone had predicted in November 2020 that Trump would falsely claim to have won and that his rhetoric would lead to a riot on Capitol Hill to overturn the election, you would have called them crazy.

Trumpists are dangerous people, the country needs to protect itself from them.

 

1. Was it Trump or Democrat leaders who opened sanctuary cities for illegal aliens?
2. Was it Trump or the medical community that stated that white supremacy was a greater threat to black lives than Covid? Perhaps the medical community should tell that to the families of 10s of thousands of black people who died of Covid.
3. The MSM, corporations and Democrats characterized the most violent rioting in American history as "peaceful protests".
4. Democrat leaders in blue states instituted the most fascist policies to "combat Covid" in American history. When we look at the death rate data for blue states compared to red states, we can discern no benefit from the fascism. When we look at the devastating economic data for blue states compared to red states, the carnage is obvious.
5. We had a secure border one year ago. In one short year since then, we saw the most illegal immigration in American history. Securing the border is the most important function of government. If it does not do that, you do not have a country.

If they wanted to reduce discontent, maybe it wasn't such a good idea to be forcing all military service members to have an experimental vaccine injected into their body (one which is even known to have killed a very small number of people) ?

I have a family member who got this "jab" and their arm where they got injected is still sore even seven months later, and they even had to have physical therapy for it because it hurts so much when they try to raise it. (One of their friends quickly dismissed and made light of it, saying "Better than being dead or in the hospital", as if that were just a normal expected side effect and people should just deal with it)

(and before anyone raises the objection, this also wasn't due to the skill of the person injecting it, because the pain did not begin until about 36 hours after the second dose, indicating it was the vaccine itself, not the physical insertion of the needle that caused this)
