Where is the outrage??? What have these 3 people done to justify such inordinate wealth. Have they created millions of well-paying jobs??? Have they discovered a cure for cancer, AIDS, Herpes???? They have done nothing except to line their own pockets off other people's labor!!!

We, the workers, have arsenals at our disposal that can be implemented in our fight for justice and equality!

Capitalists class war is waged against the workers with court injunctions, anti-labor laws, police repression, union busting, contract violations, sweatshops, dishonest clocking of time, safety violations, harassment and firing of resistant workers, cutbacks in wages and benefits, raids of pension funds, layoffs, and plant closings.

Labor fights back with union organizing, strikes, slowdowns, boycotts, public demonstrations, job actions, coordinated absenteeism, and workplace sabotage.

Good for them. I aspire to be one of them, one day. The wealth they have accumulated is, in no way, impeding my own ability to achieve that level of wealth too.

It's not a zero sum game.

Just because a person has more money than you, doesn't mean it's the reason you have less.

Are the bottom half owed something? Getting a job, working hard at it and being the best employee you can be almost assures a person of not being in the bottom half. But what it does assure is that he'll be paying for the bottom half's healthcare, cell phone, food stamps, utility subsidies, and all the infrastructure the bottom half uses in their daily lives.

    Outrage about what?

I don't care who has a lot of money. More power to them. I also have no expectation that a trillionaire is going to cure herpes, or is in fact in any way responsible for curing herpes.

Meanwhile, New Jersey just elected as their Democratic governor a former Goldman Sachs executive. Go figure.

It's funny (and rather sad) that you just missed the two major reasons for increased economic inequality over the past 15+ years. But, don't worry, the VAST majority of American's probably would as well.

Capitalism is NOT the problem...it's actually the solution. Excessive government interference in free enterprise and the disastrous policies of the pro-rich/macroeconomically ignorant Federal Reserve are by MILES the two biggest reasons for the huge increase in wealth inequality since at least 2001 (IMO).
And in case you don't believe that...just look at equity markets since 2001 and ESPECIALLY since 2009. And who benefits from them rocketing upwards - almost exclusively the rich. And what group - more then any other - is causing this rise? The Fed with it's QE's and ZIRP. Heck, they even freely admit that this was the number one reason they have done what they did since the housing crash - to boost the stock markets.

But I am guessing you have no idea about this and just want to go out and bust some capitalist heads.

Maybe not yours, but when so much of the fruits of our efforts go to so few as opposed to being shared with those who help create it, it is definitely impeding their ability to achiever higher levels of wealth for many.

When an owners takes more and more of the fruits of production while people working to produce it get less and less, it absolutely is a zero sum gain.

And since the Reagan "trickle down" revolution, the middle/poorer classes have gotten the zero.

No, we didn't suddenly start having excessive government interference and fed policies starting in 1981, when inequality began to skyrocket.

I do find it amazing how many Americans have absolutely no problem with this level of inequality, even as there own opportunities for greater income and wealth are suppressed.

It is a testament to how effect RW propaganda has been.

He's not the first former Goldman Sachs guy to be governor of New Jersey. He's also been gone from there for more than 10 years.

Does the alt-left say they want homeless people to be governors of a state the size of New Jersey? I don't know who the alt-left is so hopefully you can tell me.

And it is people like you who always say, "We gotta defend this great country from the evil swarthy terrorists in Iraq who are killing our good people. Boohoo hoo!!!" Glad to see you finally showed your true colors.

Thanks for sharing your opinion, Marie Antoinette. The bottom 90% of working Americans deserve less and less because they're all fat, lazy and dumb.

You have succintly summed up the conservative belief and position better than just about anyone I've seen. Congratulations.

However, the bottom 90% of working Americans didn't suddenly become fat, lazy, dumb people in 1981.

I said nothing of pre-2001. And I did not say the inequality started in 2001.
Please waste someone else's time with what I assume are anti-Reagan/anti-Rep. thoughts.
I think ALL POTUS's were failures since at least 1929. And I despise both major parties.
And I am not interested in partisan-based, blame games.
I am - in this thread anyway - only interested in macroeconomic happenings and the reasons for them.

I don't care whether you said anything pre-2001. The data proves that inequality started exploding in 1981. And sorry, we didn't suddenly start having excessive government interference and fed policies starting in 1981 which caused inequality to start skyrocketing.

    Something else happened that year.

If if you are not interested in partisan-based, blame games like blaming "excess government interference" and "the fed", and you are really are interested in macroeconomic happenings and the reasons for them, then you should look at what macroeconomic policy changes were being made in the 1981 timeframe, which is when inequality started exploding.

But you won't do that, because despite your protests, all you are interested in is partisan-based, blame games that support your own ideology.

Let me try to get this through your head...I DO NOT MUCH CARE WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE 2001 ON THIS? You got that? Or do you need it spelled out even plainer?

And if you knew ANYTHING about what it is I speak of - you would know that what I am talking about goes against BOTH major parties. BOTH parties since 2001 have supported what the Fed is doing and an unbalanced budget and massive government interference in the economy (DUH). But no, you are SO caught up in partisan politics, that you cannot see that. <Mod Edit- Rule 3>

But I will play your ridiculous game of Shouting Nonsense...instead of jumping up and down like a maniac...why don't you explain AND PROVE WITH LINKS TO UNBIASED SOURCES exactly what is your magical cause of wealth inequality since 1981. Because so far, you have explained nothing, zip, nada.... All you are doing is running around like a flock of wet hens - stirring up lots of dust and saying NOTHING of substance.

So...okay <Mod Edit- Rule 3>...the floor is yours...enlighten us with your VAST macroeconomic wisdom as to why there was an increase in wealth inequality since 1981...

    Why are you shouting?

Let me try to get this through to your head ... I DO NOT MUCH CARE WHETHER YOU MUCH CARE WHAT HAPPENED BEFORE 2001.

The issue is income inequality. You've made arguments for why it has increased. Inequality started exploding in 1981. So for you to ignore everything that happened before 2001 and try to pretend there was no growth in inequality before then is factually inaccurate and intellectually dishonest.

I couldn't care less whether you blame both parties. So what? What is your weird fixation on 2001? Income inequality growth, unbalanced budgets, government interference, and support of the fed happened well before 2001. Why would you arbitrarily act as if income inequality wasn't happening before 2001?

Why are you shouting? Calm down. I'm happy to share my opinions. But first, are you questioning the fact that income inequality started exploding around 1981? Are you really trying to claim income inequality didn't start increasing until 2001?
