And denying that Demos stating they want a ban on all guns. Was something you missed on purpose, Right?

    You are correct.

Thousand Oaks is a very quiet place. Just suburbia on the border between LA and the laid back lifestyle and culture of Ventura and points North.

Just heard the gunman was 29, and drove his mothers car to the bar before opening fire...….

    Hmmmm

Same question as always. According to reports he was using a pistol....so what laws would have not made this possible in regards to the inanimate object.

More laws can't change peoples behavior, that are determined to break the laws and every incident of violence whether it's with a firearm, baseball bat, or knife is a people problem.....not an inanimate object problem.

Well they are reporting he was dressed in black. Wearing Sunglasses. But nothing on any other identifying features.

The one witness they interviewed said he had smoke bombs that he set off.

An American does a terrible thing and other Americans just line up to show how profoundly sick their society is. I feel sad for the decent people still left in America.

Even better was the sign of TDS......thinking those of us who have been 2A just started with Trump.

But hey.....let find a way to call all Repubs Trumpezidia's gang.

Yet he tries to tell everybody how he thinks first.....for objectivity. :roflol:

Well, there does seem to be some common threads among these twisted basket cases.

Why is it they tend to put a bullet in their head after their carnage? That should be their first move....

You're post reeks of hate and blame.

If you actually followed your own convictions, you wouldn't have to ignore the spell check to type out your pejorative reference to supporters of the President.

The gunman shot a bouncer or security guard outside and forced his way into the bar, witnesses said.

    ...

At least 12 people were killed, including Ventura County Sheriff's Sgt. Ron Helus, a 29-year law enforcement veteran.

Helus, who was set to retire within the next year, was shot multiple times as he entered the bar with a California Highway Patrol officer, Dean said.

    ... https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/08/us/thousand-oaks-bar-shooting-what-we-know/index.html

So much for "good guys with guns" being the solution. Again.

If the claim that mental illness is a major problem in these cases of mass shootings, the answer should be yes!

What if such simply inspires widespread distrust of physicians, and motivates members of the public to not seek out medical assistance for fear of such being used against them at a later point in life? Would such not simply make a bad situation worse?

Such is not what is being done. What is being done is denigration of the actions of the law enforcement officer for being insufficient for stopping the mass shooter from successfully murdering the individuals present.

No, not in my opinion. Sitting back watching this happen time and time again and doing nothing is making it worse

Then in the opinion of yourself, widespread distrust of physicians, the destruction of physician/patient confidentiality, and people not seeking help that could benefit them, would do nothing to make the current situation any worse than it already is?

Federal law already covers mental illness and gun ownership.

Actually, we had a large consortium of Psychiatric hospitals but over the last 2 decades, there has been a large drop of available beds. Society decided that such facilities were inhumane and felt these people could operate in normal society but alas, that is evident to not be the case. We've created this monstrosity of an epidemic (redundant, I know) but one side continues to ignored the real issue and focus on the devise and not the symptom.
