And so this thread descends into petty bickering, with the topic drifting away from the subject of Assange.

How so? It seems like a long time coming. Wikileaks has been talking about it for maybe a year now. The current Ecuadorian president, unlike his predecessor who gave Assange sanctuary, is in the pocket of the US government.

this all can be cleared up If Assange gives us the proof he claims he has
so don't you want to see that proof your self?
because I surely do to see if Assange is being truthful because he has never been proven to lie unlike Brennan and Clapper

There doesn't seem to be adequate evidence to substantiate the charge that Wikileaks did any hacking themselves.

I fear that could just be a false pretense to charge Assange.

Then the prosecutor will just paint Assange as the worst person in the world and get the jury to convict on a criminal charge that they know there is inadequate evidence of.
    Not an uncommon prosecutorial tactic.

Not what he's charged with... if he can offer information on other crimes in exchange for consideration for his current indictment, I'm sure the govt will consider that...

And by other crimes, there's a pretty wide range of things he probably knows against many people... some you like and some you don't.

So much for principles and justice. Something many of those on the Left don't seem to have.

It's all just hypocrisy, "my side or yours", I don't know how much longer this country can hold together like that.

(And many of those on the Right are equally guilty, if not more, in this Assange story, so don't think I'm letting them off the hook)

Assisting doesn't mean he executed the hack. Manning would have done that. I wouldn't put a lot of stock in that avenue of prosecution.

LOL... how can you say that?? The indictment includes almost no evidence, except that the govt seems to have conversations between Assange and Manning on something called Jabber...

But if Assange is guilty of what the indictment says, Wikileaks did assist with hacking. Period.

If a jury convicts on a criminal charge that there is inadequate evidence of, then we have a big problem in this country. A jury couldn't even agree Manafort should be convicted on all the charges. Assange will have his day in court and the government will present all the evidence they have.

no you are just assuming they have the evidence because all the hell we know they could just be using what Manning told them
so until we are provided the evidence other then Manning words you are just speculating

So what exactly does "collaborate" mean?

Someone who is believed to have been Assange provided information about how to get past password protection?

and where are those claimed communications do they have them? have you read them?
notice they don't claim they have those communication just the Manning and Assange used that chat service so we are right back to it might be all they have is Manning's words
funny how you wont believe Barr until you read Mullers report but you believe this with out reading what they claim they have
just goes to show your nothing but a liberal hack

That may be true but there seems to be a question of if Assange and Wiki-leaks are legitimate journalists protected under the 1st or engaged in espionage and therefore traitors.

Last I read his dirty cat litter box was stinking up the embassy. He's just a lousy inconsiderate house guest.
Sounds as if he was just too much of a slob to clean up after it. They must be relieved to get rid of the freeloader.
It appears that Assange is a socialist without contributing to the kitty himself...(pun intended).
