It's quite a spectacle, isn't it? The GOP's hypocrisy has become downright comical.

The initial comment and Limbaugh's response, from the article, for anyone who is interested: "“Republicans can nominate a young, potentially two-term president, one that believes in fiscal conservatism,” the caller told Limbaugh. “We’re gonna have — in 2019, there’s gonna be a $1 trillion deficit. Trump doesn’t really care about that. He’s not really a fiscal conservative. We don't, we have to acknowledge that Trump has been cruelly used.”

“Nobody is a fiscal conservative anymore,” Limbaugh shot back. “All this talk about concern for the deficit and the budget has been bogus for as long as it’s been around.”"

I'd love to hear the exchange with more context, but I can't access the transcripts without being a member, which costs $$$. (Can anyone here share this?)

I'm not even sure what the controversy is. We've known since 2015 when the GOP establishment successfully crushed the Tea Party that the establishment party's stand on fiscal conservatism was bogus, just as we learned early in 2017 that their expressed desire to do away with Obamacare was bogus too.

That's why the GOP has been in Civil War and why Trump won the nomination and not some other generic GOP poll.

What context can you imagine where what Limbaugh said isn't what he actually meant?

No politician cares about what will happen when they leave office. Most of our spending is entitlement, are the Democrats doing anything to curb that?

But the GOP, Trump, Limpball, and all the rest will, in next month, go back to claiming that America must immediately drastically cut Social Security and every every other program that might help the middle and poor middle class because the "deficit" is "destroying America"!

The GOP and the Right doesn't even blink even for a moment about their unending lies!

Yeah. They would increase the tax revenues to cover that spending.

Yeah i am breathless because of all the lies they spin and how much power they have. To have proof to use against them makes me very breathless indeed.

NEWSFLASH: That is why we started the TEA Party. But, then we had a bunch of establishment Republicans and ALL of the Democrats attack the movement, because they want to spend, spend, spend with no regard for future generations. If you were not a member of the TEA Party, or supported it, I don't know how you complain.

Establishment Republicans suck just as much as Democrats. We have all been telling you this for a very long time. Welcome to the party.

I think Limbaugh is saying that the talk coming from establishment Republicans is bogus, and has been for who knows how long. He's not "admitting" anything.

It seems the primary difference between establishment Republicans and Democrats is the stance on social issues.

Well, for starters, who is he referring to as doing "all this talking" when he says "all this talk about concern for the deficit and the budget has been bogus for as long as it’s been around"? Is he meaning "all this talk [by voters? by talking heads? by RINOs? by Democrats?] about concern for the deficit and the budget has been bogus for as long as it’s been around"??

I wish the Republicans were more fiscally conservative (I wish both parties were more fiscally conservative), but when everyone's got a hand in the cookie jar and we can't touch entitlements, what can we do..... The Tea Party I guess came the closest to tackling this problem.

When it comes down to it, we can lump both parties together when it comes to spending like thieves with stolen credit card. I have to strongly disagree with raising taxes on corps. That just rewards irresponsibility.

Speaking of which, what happened to them? Why aren't they out protesting now? We're running trillion-dollar deficits in a time of "supposed" economic prosperity. You would think the Tea Party would be apoplectic. I wonder what happened to their outrage...

True, cutting SS and Medicare and Medicaid and any program to help the bottom 90% seems to be only a goal of the Republican Party. They are the party that keeps lowering taxes to make wealth inequality increase while ballooning the deficit.

Same question to you: Where is the Tea Party now? Why aren't they protesting such high deficits during a time of supposed peace and prosperity?

    ^^^^ True story.

The TEA Party ONLY had 3 agenda items. Everything else attributed to them was OUTSIDE their goals and a bastardization by outside forces, or fools within that don't know their own goals.

    (1) CUT TAXATION
    (2) REDUCE SPENDING
    (3) FOLLOW THE U.S. CONSTITUTION

That's it... there is nothing more. If someone brings up Social Issues, Religion, etc... they are usually out of bounds.

Ya'll destroyed the movement. It's a shell of what it once was. People were tired of being called "racist" or having False Flag *******s sneak in the movement with signs that were not part of the TEA Party, just to make news and slam it. Establishment Republicans and Democrats attacked the TEA Party relentlessly. They called it "racist"... like the video below.

The TEA Party suffered the same bullshit attacks that Leftists always employ when they don't want to actually talk about the issues.

You can watch tons of infiltrator videos here. I experienced it first hand in 3 different occasions.

No, I'm not passionate about deficits. This isn't about me, though. What happened to the Tea Party? They actually WERE passionate about deficits. So, where are they now? What happened in the last six years?

I can think of only one thing: Obama is not in office anymore.

Liberals destroyed the Tea Party movement? Wow, what a weak group of people. I like my theory better: it was never about deficits. It was about hating Obama. Because now that we have high deficits again, and the Tea Party could protest WITHOUT being called racists (because they would be protesting a white president), they're nowhere to be found.
