Anyone who claims to have a "cure" for cancer is grossly misstating the case... Every breast cancer "survivor" as they term themselves, that I have known will only say they are "controlled". While I have worked and continue to advocate medical marijuana, this over-blown claim and the accompanying articles are an insult and a disservice to that cause. I only needed to see two to know that once again, some very valid research has been hyped beyond believability some otherwise valid research invalidated by absurd claims. Thank you, once again, for turning serious medical research into a carnival side show, conspiracy theory nut piece. With this slant, its a miracle that people in Washington and Colorado voted in favor of legalization because stuff like this make the whole industry look like hooka-toking characters in a Seth Rogan movie without the comedy
Pretty much my what I think also. These 'miracle cure' claims just aways amaze me. Marijuana deserves far more research into what it can and what it cannot do. But cure cancer? That just as you say- turns it into a carnival side show.
Oh, yes, there is a LOT of areas still virtually untapped. Part of my last business was creating jobs for people "with barriers", in my case selected recovering addicts and alcoholics. One guy, a crack baby, was virtually hopeless unless he was stoned on pot, but when he was he was foreman material. THAT needs study, as does the case of my 71 year old friend whose chronic insomnia has been "cured" with a drop of "honey oil" in his tea at night. And there are "promising indications" as well in treatment of cancers, skin being one of them. But you're right, this is a joke
I am assuming that the OP smokes marijauna recreationally and he wants it to be legalized. If that is the case, then be honest about it and make that argument. But making ludicrous medical claims, that if followed, will get someone killed is the height of irresponsibility. We see these same claims with wine, alkaline water and a host of other crap that will not work. Of course, this is a free country, and it is your right to proclaim such foolishness, but shouldn't you have at least some concern that some gullible stoner believes this nonsense and forgoes chemotherapy. This sort of a proclamation is a danger to others.
There are several states that have medical marijuana legalized. Including my state of Michigan. And I can assure you. We still get breast cancer.

I've been fighting cancer for almost 15 years now and smoked marijuana through the whole experience. If it's a cure, how long before it starts to have an effect? It works great for the loss of appetite associated with radiation and chemotherapy, though.
While there might be some benefit to hemp oils and other marijuana related products I wouldn't get overly excited about Simpson's claims. The OP suggesting that medical marijuana is a cure for cancer and that the Doctors and Drug Companies are trying to squash it is ridiculous.

Agreed, if they ever do come up with a cure for cancer, it will be squashed immediately. Too much money to be make from people having cancer. It will never be cured. And now with Obamacare, we will be begging our Congressmen for medical care.
I never said marijuana kills people. Cancer will absolutely kill people, and if you rely on Rick Simpson instead of Chemotherapy and radiation, you will die. When my wife had HER2 breast cancer, they gave her a warning that she should not, under any circumstances use cannabis. Cannabis seems to increase the chances of HER2 cancers spreading. Apparently all cancers are not equal and making the assumption that they are will get you killed. Like I said, if you want to smoke pot, then do it. If you want it legalized, then make the libertarian argument that the government has no business regulating something you wish to use. But making goofy medical claims is irresponsible.
This is not correct. There have already been cures for many types of cancer. We now have immunizations for cervical cancer. If TDM1 is ever approved, it will be the first silver bullet that absolutely stops a certain type of cancer. Cancer used to be an absolute death sentence, almost without exception. Now, most individuals who have cancer survive. Saying that cancer cures would be quashed ignores the history of oncology.
Don't have to prove anything , the research is blocked for almost all due to laws . I think it's something that needs to be explored further ...I don't think it's a cure all ... It just needs to be researched more .You do understand that just about every medicine is organic in its original nature/state ... ? What kind of cancer are you referring to? Leukemia? Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma? Blastomas? Because talking about a cure for cancer is a silly thing to begin with, because cancer isn't just one disease. It's any number of different diseases, with different causes.
