Well, what do you know. Seem like a "hard Brexit" is coming. Or no Brexit at all.

    What do you think? :)

It isn't just the defeat, it is the scale of it, by 230 votes. I think the biggest defeat in our Parliament ever.

Impossible to know what happens now. There is talk of trying to make no deal impossible but there just is nothing that a majority is likely to agree to. The £ has gone up! The belief being that that is because it can be seen people do not want no deal.

It'll be Corbyn calling a no confidence vote, the motion will go through and we leave in March. Leave as in 'Leave'. According to the dictionary, leave doesn't mean deal, hard or soft; it means leave.

The UK won't put border control in place between Ireland and Northern Ireland. If the EU want to install border control on their side, that's their prerogative at their cost.

I know but it was just a fear mongering comment. It won't happen.

I'd like to see a second referendum. The Brits were unknowingly intoxicated by Russian meddling during the first one and did something they would live to regret.

Those that are not democratic would like to see a second one.

What's undemocratic about a second referendum? Seems twice as democratic to me.

I think you're right. This whole 'brexit' thing as it has been bungled so badly up to this point is so cocked-up now that British voters will probably be asked to vote on the whole damned thing a SECOND time. Because it wasn't clear enough what Britain's citizens wanted the FIRST time...? :hiding:

I think that Corbyn will loose the vote of no confidence as the totally divided Tories will unite to cling onto power with their fingertips. Then a second referendum will gain strength.

Whatever, May is finished as a prime minister, after the overwhelming defeat she is just a lame duck but will probable stagger on unless she herself resigns.
What happens next is anyone’s guess.

Although I'm just an American, watching this from across 'the pond', I sense that you are correct. But May is surely DONE. Now she needs to retire to some country estate, perhaps up in the Lake Country, and indulge herself with afternoon tea and pedicures....

The deal was so bad, that Britain would have been locked into the EU without any rights. Looks like Germany won against Britain this time around. Revenge I guess for the bombing raids. My grandson called the EU a cult, and I think he's right. Once you're in you can't get out.

Why not a third of fourth for good measure?

Why invalidate the the vote that was held? Because of the outcome? How does that make sense?

Maybe they can vote best 2 of 3 to settle it...

I shudder to think how indoctrinated your poor grandson must be.
