Not really, this is why the slaves weren't edified to Christianity in the South. Had they been edified it meant they were totally human and therefore couldn't be kept as slaves. This is probably what created all the cruelty in the South because from what I read by a Minister that tried to edify them, the slaves were quite adept in witchcraft and spells - especially towards their neighbors. The fault with slavery is that they could be bought and sold, not that they were kept in bondage since servants were also bonded. People couldn't leave the household they were living in, I mean where would they go, what would they do? There were no jobs. Everyone was dependent on family, relatives and the people they knew.
I've never read a post filled with more stupidity than this one on this forum... That's quite a feat!
Christians are not responsible for what happened in the Old Testiment Nor is it for us to judge now What we can do is affirm that Jesus loves homosexuals too and offers eternal life to everyone who repents and accepts Him as Lord
Christians do not believe that Jesus fulfilled the Law of Moses. Christians believe God revealed Himself fully through Jesus Christ. The laws given to Moses was a partial revelation to prepare humanity for the fuller one that would come later. Christianity went beyond the laws of Moses to the purification of one's heart, something that can only be achieved through God's Grace. It's a gift God gives humanity when people repent of their sins and accept Christ as their redeemer.
You're not very well read are you? Blacks were not the only ones considered semi human, the Irish were also as well as the Japanese before their diet changed after the war. There's a book at the Smithsonian called Apes and Angels. It shows how the Irish were considered white apes by the British because of the malformation of their mouths from the famine. Some were sent at one time to Martinique as slaves.. As for the occult, it's not me, it's what a Minister wrote that tried to edify the slaves He said that when he told them to stop putting hexes under their neighbors door steps, they all began to giggle.
The Irish were despised because they were catholics and the english and colonist were protestant. It had nothing to do with them being semi human or having malformed mouth. Because something is written in a book doesn't make it the reality. The blacks were fooling that minister. They probably saw him as a meddler who was going to bring them trouble so they played him. Being a slaves doesn't make someone a fool.
Oh I'm sorry. I didn't realize you know more than the composite of cartoons, photographs, articles and posters in the Smithsonian book. I guess you're a time traveler then?
Are you arguing that every word ever written in books at the smitsonian is the truth? You do realise how silly you are if you actually believe this. They have books with unicorns and dragons at the smithsonian, do you believe they exist?
Good question... NZ comes to mind...why would you leave your country and go to the bottom of the earth...one step further and youre in Antarctica....why so far unless there was a specific reason... Why not stop somewhere in between..anywhere...Indonesia, Brunei for example...(from the ME of course)
So you're saying the reproductions of 19th century articles, photos and cartoons in the Smithsonian book are faked and only figments of the authors imagination? My gosh, I never would have guessed.
Don't be deceived, there's a reason behind it. The Muslims are encouraged to immigrate to Christian countries so they can propagate the faith. Once they leave Islam, they're not allowed to go back, but must stay put so as to increase the Muslim population and change the demographics of the country they immigrated to. Yet the Islamic countries will allow Christians to move into their countries with the hope of converting them. Islam is a religious political system, so that territorial expansion is part of their faith. Any land Muslims have lived on must always be under Islam, otherwise it's considered an insult to their faith which they feel supersedes Christianity. This is why their mosques must always be higher than churches as a symbol of triumph. When the Palestinians would say they feel humiliated, it wasn't because they were being humiliated personally, but that their Muslim faith was being humiliated by not being in power. When they went into Jordan, they were kicked out by the King. Not because they did anything wrong, but because their fate in life was to restore Palestine to Islam. Yet they weren't stopped by the Muslim leaders from going to Lebanon since it was a Christian country. Well it's not anymore.
If a Muslim leaves Islam and is forbidden to return then how are they going to propagate Islam their new country? Or are you saying that Muslims who leave an Islamic country can never return? As that is an absurd and easily disproved falsehood I don't know why anyone would claim it. You really do spout some absurd rubbish. Do you really believe this stuff? I can't see how any half intelligent person would.
Correct but but we can learn from back then, and we can compare to back then to check if what we are saying and doing now is valid and right, for all that such will be subjective. However in this case, I was pointing out the broad brushing fallacy the OP engaged in when he attributed the actions of extremist Muslims to all Muslims and use the Christianity of the past to show how that was wrong.
Article and cartoons only covey the author immagination/opinion. As I said, they also have depiction of dragons and unicorns and Santa Claus... Do you believe they actually exist?
@navigator2 The left is already collapsing under their own contradictions. There is interesting things happening in the right wing, for a long time the left wing had the intellectual upper hand because they had philosophers which has theorized their thoughts. Mostly post modernist thinker. Right now, there is an intellectual riposte to progressivism which is slowly but surely build. Every society is based on an intellectual basis. Philosopher like Saint Augustine of Hippo build european medieval society, which is quite ironic for a north african man. American and french revolution was build by thinker like Montaigne, Hobbes, Voltaire or Rousseau. First half of 20th century was build by people like Tocqueville, Marx, Hayes. Since the 70's it's the post modernist, Sartre, Alain, Levi Strauss. Nowodays islamic societies were build by salafi thinker which lived during the 19th century or the 50's. Samuel Huntington is one of the thinker of the future. One day, by the way, this wave of philosophy would be outdated and would be replaced by new thinkers. However the west since the 60's is still weak and collapsing.
