We just did a two-week adventure. We flew into San Francisco, drove down PCH, hit Monterey, LA, Anaheim & Yucca Valley, before heading to Vegas.

We didn't really notice a huge road problem. Have you ever driven in Illinois?

BTW - PCH is beautiful and scary!

So do you support subjecting African kids to a lifetime of Hard Labor and deadly safety hazards Mining for Cobalt and Lithium for Batteries, so you can have your bright and shiny new Electric Car in the future. More Damns killing Fish, More! Windmills killing Birds, More! Nuclear plants poisoning the Earth, all this extra need for Electricity has to come from somewhere. 61% of Electricity is generated by Fossil Fuels and if we go FULL! Electric Cars, that's Millions upon Millions of New Cars that are going to be a strain on the Electric Grid.
    https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=427&t=3

What sacrifices are Liberals willing to make for a complete Electric Society, Will you be willing to get rid of your Cell Phones and go back to old Rotary Phones or just ride around in Electric Trains everywhere along with all the Criminals that like to ride them also.

What about all the energy needed to charge the battery? You can't get away from carbon emissions.

They should be able to do better than that. They need another Obama badly.

PCH is well maintained. The streets in Beverly Hills are always clean and free of homeless people.

PCH can be scary, especially on a motorcycle on a windy day!

I have not driven in IL!

If you had read my post, you would know the answer to that question.

From what I understand, windmills do not kill birds any more so than any other building of their same size.

Nuclear energy is pretty efficient, compared to other energy sources. No energy source is without cost.

    Ask a liberal.

It's a great book - meticulously researched - and there's a lot in there for everyone on both sides of the aisle to be concerned about.

I do know, and I said "Leftist idiots like Buttigieg", which would include Biden, Energy Sec Jennifer Granholm and most Democrats.

Yes, those are challenges. To be honest EVs will be more practical in densely populated places like east coast where distances between cities and towns are shorter. They won’t work so well in wide open spaces.
One thing the government should do - should already have done - is to mandate a single type of charging plug and specifications to standardise charging points. It is stupid to have a place that can only charge a certain brand of car, or that requires an adapter. This has been done in Europe. It should be done everywhere in the world. One standard socket.
There are challenges, but they will be overcome. I suspect that my current vehicle will be the last ICE that I own. It will last another 5+ years (I hope) but I think the next one is likely to be electric.

Whatever. EVs will be more prominent in the future. They will gradually replace ICE vehicles. Maybe not completely, but this trend will only move in one direction.

If you are asleep in the passenger seat, and heading to the Illinois border, from any direction, you will wake up the second you cross.

They should standardize the charging plugs just like how our 120/220 AC plugs are standardized. And I wish phone manufacturers would join up and do the same thing,

He Is a moron. Let’s take a look at travelers who want to drive across the country. After a few hundred miles the car needs to stop for several hours to charge. If Brandon actually wants to build charging stations across the country they’d have to be a large as big parking lots to handle all the cars just sitting there being charged, at a gas station they’d be in and out in minutes. And what will provide energy to the hundreds of individual chargers at each station?

LOL. Line graph. Visualize a line drawn in the middle of all those rectangle that represent the high and low prices for that week.

I saw a documentary recently that suggested a very high charge could be achieved in about half an hour. Not 0% to 100%, but maybe something like 20% to 75 or 80%. Nobody intentionally runs their car to zero, with gas or electric. And a half hour stop after 3-4 hours is safer.
No need to build parking lots. There are plenty of them out there already. Just need to install the charging infrastructure at enough parking lots, including some near highways with all night coffee shops.
This isn’t rocket science. It will happen. Some parts of the country are well covered already. Some parts effectively not covered at all.

And money. The more they can keep us purchasing the materials of our survival (rents, groceries, utilities, etc), the better it is for them.

Sorry. “Stockcharts” .com isn’t a government or scholarly source. Didn’t they teach you basic stuff like that in school? You may as well have posted a source from Wikipedia.
