Mistakes were made, but local LE in a small rural town are not trained to provide security to presidents. Its all on Secret Service, and they screwed up and IMO them trying to blame to local LE is an admission of it.

In my experience, local police are not usually gung-ho Hollywood types. They surely would have assumed that the secret service were controlling the situation. Hell, they may even have assumed the guy was working for them!. Or, the local police which would have been 1 or 2 guys, were slow and not sure what to do!

Imagine, there's a massive presidential meet going on, with people way more experienced. You're a local cop given intel that a) you don't know is accurate b) you don't know who to go to first c) you don't know whether you should approach them yourself! You would call it in. There's the conspiracy theorist first point of reference! Was it called in?

Yeah, I'd definitely give the cops a few minutes before laying incompetence blame on them. Calling it in will take a minute or so before you get someone higher who can make a decision, then you've got maybe 60 seconds max, to approach anyone in the security detail. How far away are they? 200 yards? I can't ever imagine a local police officer instructing his force to actively engage, so that's not a lot of time to act.

Why is this posted in conspiracy theories? It is a known fact that the gunman was witnessed climbing on the roof by multiple people

I asked that already. However, go look at some of the OP posts and see we ARE starting to go down Batshit Avenue with "inside-job" videos.

There are some glaring failures here. There are reports to the local law enforcement folks. There was monitored chatter between the local and federal folks expressing the existence of the shooter. The counter sniper team were already targeting the shooter. And yet they didn't do anything. The local folks sen someone up who retreated when confronted by the kid with a weapon. And the counter sniper folks allowed 6-8 shots from the shooter to happen before they sniped him.

There is F'n video of the kid taken from folks in the crowd. Clearly, the counter sniper folks had the kid located. So why don't they simply take the shot, or suspend the event noting an active shooter? Either one of which is SOP for these events? Who was the finger on the phone that stopped the rules of engagement from executing? Why?

At some point, we have to start asking the hard questions of those who are responsible for these failures. Is this simply just a case of gosh, we failed, and whoops the former president was killed, but the establishment was supposed to sigh a great relief in Trump having been killed.... and the establishment gets away unscathed?

The notion above does answer the basic questions of why the shooter was allowed to be there and pop off. But at some point, Trump didn't cooperate with the plan, and the kid missed, and only after those shots were fired did the overwatch counter snipers commit and shoot the kid.

So, when mr Biden says, "Trump must be in the bullseye". perhaps his team take him so seriously that they allowed this to transpire.

We actually have some answers to some of those questions.

There was a counter sniper team from the local police IN the building that crooks was on top of. Why they were in the building instead of on the building needs to be answered.

However it seems pretty clear that the Secret Service shooters who had their rifle on crooks hesitated because they needed to verify whether it was the local counter sniper team or a threat. They obviously would not want to take out local cops on their side.

In addition we know one uniform cop actually approached crooks who pointed his rufle at the cop and the cop backed off. The cop then radioed his superiors. Where did his report go? What was the reaction.

Best guess is that all of this led to massive confusion about WHO was n the roof.

What this all points to is massive failure in communications and leadership. Of ccourse this all falls on the Secret Service who is in charge of the whole thing. The Secret Service has tried to dodge this by saying the local cops had responsibility for the building crooks fired from. However the secret service was responsible for everything including the lcoal cops. They failed to maintain proper tactical awareness of where everyone was.

Ive seen this over and over and over in government. Both military and civilian. The Secret service leadership fouled this up through ineptitude and is now trying to shift the blame to other agencies and even to the lower ranks.

The Secret Service head needs to be fired along with everyone above the agents on the ground who dealt with the confusing situation as best they could.

Based on what? The FBI will hardly be sharing an ongoing investigation with the online-noise generators.
    Which means nothing.
No it isn't. It's nearly always orientated towards the ridiculous and least likely. It makes them all feel important. There's been quite a number of insightful posts on this thread and you've ignored them all!

Why should anyone watch more foolish videos?

He, the man referred to in the OP was interviewed by a news reporter. It’s on YouTube and a good report about what happened many minutes before the shooter fired any shots at Trump.

It’s called evidence from an eyewitness.

edit/ at least I think it’s the same man. The link to video wouldn’t work for me - video wouldn’t play.

I just clicked on the link… it brought me to the rumble page with the video, but it wouldn’t play.

I’ll try later when on my computer. Must just be an issue with my phone.

    Thanks for reply.

Yes, and? I can read the OP. Define "many minutes" and re-read what I said. They told local LE, hence the indecision as I stated.
Once again what the hell are you talking about? I referenced it!

I think everybody has heard about the "sloped roof" excuse for there not being a policeman on the roof from which the shooter shot.

‘Sloped roof’ stopped Secret Service from securing Trump shooter’s building

Start watching this at about the 10:00 time mark.

New evidence points to complicity of SECRET SERVICE in Trump's attempted assassination

Mike Adams puts forth a second-shooter theory. I found a picture with a view of the building with the sloped roof from Trump's perspective.

EXCLUSIVE Former FBI Assistant Director reveals where the Secret Service made a critical mistake before the Trump shooting... and why he thinks the director is blaming the 'sloped' roof
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...ting-thinks-director-blaming-sloped-roof.html

Scroll down about 15% to see it. There are windows from where a second shooter could have had a clear shot. I wouldn't rule out this scenario.

I wouldn't rule out this scenario either.

MSNBC’s Joy Reid Suggests Donald Trump May Not Have Actually Been Shot [VIDEO]
    https://www.rvmnews.com/2024/07/msn...n-shot-video/?utm_source=in-article-related-2
    (excerpt)
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Reid expressed her frustration over the vague reports concerning Trump’s injuries. “We still don’t know for sure whether Donald Trump was hit by a bullet, whether he was hit by glass fragments, whether he was hit by shrapnel. We don’t have those details. We actually have no details from his physician, even though this man is still a Secret Service protected, you know, and President, presidential candidate, we knew almost nothing. Why? Why don’t we know that much?” she questioned.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's much too soon to come to any conclusions.

I wonder if we could get all the crazy conspiracy theory nonsense itemized in bullet points. We could then play Batshit-Bingo to see if there are blatant contradictions, actual evidence, least-likely outcomes, "inside-job", the joos did it, there was no actual gun, it was all CGI, crisis actors etc.

It is just the biggest of gigantic yawns that social media spews out these "scenarios" every time we get so much as anyone passing wind in public. The Secret Service screwed up - works for me, though it doesn't inspire.

Incompetence and fairly inept ass-covering. She should be sacked, the local guy in charge demoted or the same.

Trump gunman flagged by Secret Service 20 minutes before shooting
"Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old suspected gunman, was reportedly spotted early by local police, who flagged him as a skinny young man who was behaving in a suspicious manner.

They notified other police agencies, including the Secret Service, via radio. At the time, Crooks did not appear to have a weapon. They then lost track of him.

“He was identified as a character of suspicion because [he had] a rangefinder as well as a backpack. And this was over an hour before the shooting actually occurred,” Wyoming Senator John Barrasso, who was present at the briefings, told Fox News.

“So, you would think over the course of that hour, you shouldn’t lose sight of the individual.”

Later, around 17:45 local time, Crooks was spotted again, this time by a counter sniper officer around the Agr International building - the one the gunman later scaled up to aim at Trump.

The officer reportedly took a picture of the gunman looking through the rangefinder, according to CBS News, the BBC's news partner, and immediately radioed to a command post to report the sighting.

By 17:52 - 19 minutes before the shooting - the Secret Service was made aware that Crooks was spotted with a rangefinder, and disseminated that information to other officers on site, CBS reported.

A rangefinder is an instrument that can be used to help measure the distance to a target.

It was also revealed during the briefings that the gunman had visited the site of the attack, the Butler County fairgrounds, at least once in the days before the assassination attempt and had previously searched on his phone for symptoms of a depressive disorder, an official familiar with the briefing told CBS."

At the 12:50 time mark of this video...

Guests: Mike Benz | John Amanchukwu | SS Kimberly Cheatle Should Be Arrested | The Alec Lace Show
    https://rumble.com/v57g7od-guests-m...atle-should-be-arrested-the.html?e9s=rel_v1_a

...we can see a view of the building from Trump's perspective at ground level. The crowd would be blocking the line of sight from a window. A second shooter's shooting Trump from a window is not likely.

Summarize them, offer some damn commentary. Offer some damn counter argument. Every post, says look at the video. It's absurd that you get others to watch and offer rebuttal and ignore it over and over again.
