California enacts mandatory vaccination law

If you want your child to attend government (public) school in California, then you will have to be current with your child's vaccination's. Pharmaceutical companies where popping champagne and praising California's Govoner for signing the new bill into law. Parents are appalled at the decision and are preparing for a mass exodus.

If my state ever goes full iron fist, we'll probably home school. Not that we should have to... since our unvaccinated child couldn't sicken a vaccinated child...

Like missing out on public school would be a loss to our child anyways.

I don't think this is a left/right issue. Though, you'll probably see more right leaning folks opposing mandatory vaccinations on principal alone.

Imagine though, a vaccine that turns one liberal. *shudders* Might as well be a zombie apocalypse.

 

I think you have to be very careful with the research here. Many studies have been retracted due to falsified information, one specifically, Dr. Andrew Wakefield, British journalist who claimed these MMR vaccines caused Autism. All it takes is one celebrity to get on the band wagon and make a campaign about it and people just believe it. People want someone to blame. Please do your research and do it thoroughly. There is definitely a problem going on, but I think there is still more research to be done. Parents have to navigate through so much to protect our children. We all want the best and they don't make it easy and we definitely don't want our government telling us what we have to inject into our bodies.

 

I had hoped that most of you science deniers had retreated back under your rock pile, but apparently not. So, let me put it this way - all of the crap you believe is a bleeping lie. Are then some people who have negative reactions to vaccines? Yes. Are there people who have negative reactions to aspirin? nuts? or anything you could probably name? Yes, yes and yes. However, when you seek to place your nonsensical beliefs ahead of the public health, then you should be politely, but firmly told, that ain't gonna happen.

 

Or... you can vaccinate your children and rest assured that they'll be hunky dory, without supporting measures which deny parents the right to opt out.

 

This needs to be national policy.

That's fine, but those who opt out should be given a tax break. They shouldn't have to contribute to a public school system which they're not 'benefiting' from.

 

From which part of my post did you inferred that was i saying anti vaxxers are liberal hippies? Might want to re read what i posted before assuming something.

 

Most of the population has been immunized against all sorts of formerly dangerous or deadly diseases, but as we saw with the recent outbreaks in California and other states, those who do not, or cannot, obtain those shots put other members of the community at risk. And, don't forget, there are still a lot of people (even tho a small percentage of the population) who cannot take those shots. Your refusal, or that of anyone else, who could be immunized but, for whatever whacko reason(s) opts out, not only puts them at risk but me and mine. That's why this law was passed.

So the only people my kids would put at risk are those who can't have the vaccines? What would be worse for them, the disease or the vaccine? You should re-evaluate your reasoning.

the anti vaccine thing is part of the rights anti science thing. The far right values its right to be ignorant and be a disease carrier. remember, only 6% of scientists are republican.

 

Oh, so you are a doctor? You do realize that it was not that long ago we had a sitting president striken with polio. You know that right?

Taking into consideration the amount of illegal aliens pouring into the US without getting any form of medical check whatsoever, vaccinations seem prudent.

 

Good for California. I would go one step further, if any child gets an illness that would have been prevented by a vaccine and the child is harmed or dies the Parents should be changed criminally and given jail time, choices can have consequences.

What diseases will my children spread if other kids are vaccinated?

 

We've been over this a million times. You can't immunize children before a certain age. And some kids with immune deficiency issues can never be vaccinated.

Science is your friend. Don't like it, move out of California.

 

So you think that forcing all children to receive vaccines will protect the two groups you mention? You haven't thought that one out.
