Can we all agree that Roy Moore has been fun?

I humbly resign from the gang of prognosticators and say that Inwas wrong, I got the margin of winning wrong because Jones only won by 1% but of course I got the winner wrong.

How many White evangelical votes were lost when she openly admitted they had a "Jew" lawyer?

Roy Moore was fun along the likes of the dirty old perverted uncle with soiled underwear who visits the family for the holidays and everyone talks to him nice because they hope he will fall asleep with his nose in the mashed-potatoes before placing the youngest granddaughter on his lap and starting to play "horsey" with her. One of those uncles where the number of the local sanatorium is posted on the fridge, just in case, you know.

As I am sure our P-grabber in chief has and would says: the younger the P, the longer the expiration date, so grab early and a lot!!

    Well, let's see:

    I'm pro gun
    I am pro-life
    I believe in effective government
    And I am a Democrat

    I do not believe in:
    colluding with a foreign power
grabbing P and bragging about it
    molesting young girls
    bible-thumping

And btw, Jones does not suck. He was an effective prosecutor and knows the law. He will hardly be embarrassing.

No he will not be embarrassing but he will not govern in the way I would want my representative in the federal government either. Luckily I live in Kansas and most of those that run and win also have many of the same beliefs.

More than a month since that disgusting sexual predator, child molester Roy Moore lost and still he lacks the guts to actually concede a race that he lost.

    What a putz.

Roy Moore is the Roman Polansky of the Right.

Both of them appear to be unpleasant personalities. But both of them get smeared with loosely-used terms like 'pedophile', 'rapist', 'child molester' etc. which, when you actually look at the facts, are unwarranted. However, on the issue of sex and young people on the verge of becoming adults, both Left and Right outdo each other in demagoguery.

I would be willing to bet that 99% of the peole who call either of these men 'rapists' are not even minimally acquainted with the facts of their respective cases. All they care about is that the person concerned is a darling of the Other Side ( the Hollywood Left, in Polansky's case, the Religious Right, in Moore's case). It's just one more example of how degraded political debate in the US has become.

    Both are creeps.

Polanski had pleaded guilty to the charge of "Unlawful Sexual Intercourse with a Minor."

Lecher Moore's case involves his lying to the public whilst seeking a position of public trust. When I number of witnesses in his community confirmed his sexual fixation with teenage girls (including a fellow associate in the District Attorney's office,) his wife falsely characterized them all as liars by claiming that all had been paid. (... we are gathering evidence of money being paid to people who would come forward. Which is part of why we are filing suit!...) None of the evidence she claimed would be provided ever appeared. No suit was ever filed, of course.

If Donald Trump or Harvey Weinstein's multiple accusers are not believed for partisan reasons, I don't know how anyone can determine that.

I haven't heard anyone defend Weinstein, except one person (Taki, if you who he is) who pointed out that one of the actresses he forced his attentions on went on to have a five-year relationship with him. Trump supporters seem to maintain a discreet silence about his boorishness.

In general, the whole #metoo etc has caused lots of uncomfortable feelings on both the Left and the Right, mainly on the latter: on the Left, they're embarrassed because so many famous Leftist men have been revealed as .. well ... men. But they're not defending them, or no leftist I have read is. (Not even where you could say, there is a difference between a brief lunge, an unwanted advance, on the one hand, and persistent pestering, force, threats of economic sanctions, on the other -- I haven't kept up with the Al Franken case, but it seemed to me, from what I had read of it, that he should have apologized, but hadn't done anything meriting resignation. (I'm not a political fan of his.)

And on the Right, they reluctantly acknowledge that, no, it's not really right to use either physical force, even low key force, or threats of deprivation of employment, to extract sex from women ... but we're not, really, in our heart of hearts happy about anything where the feminists are making the running, because it's really a 'Left' issue. (Sort of like Civil Rights was fifty years ago.) We'll catch up eventually, or rather, the next generation of conservatives will, having grown up taking women's equality for granted. (The Conservative Party in Scotland is now led by a gay woman.)

On Polanski, you need to know the details about this minor (sexually active at 13, not unfamiliar with drugs, aspiring actress daughter of an ambitious mother who, I believe, knew exactly what she was doing in leaving her little one alone with Polanski ), to decide whether a prison sentence was justified. Can a 13-year old be said to give consent? Had she been 15, would the case have been seen differently? I'm on the Right, so I have no sympathy for him or his Hollywood defenders, but I don't like lynch-mob thinking. The fact that he is also a film-making genius is irrelevant.

And the same for Moore, a repulsive person, but when I read -- in the Atlantic, I think -- of his sexual history, it was not what you'd want from a political leader, but not anywhere near that of a rapist, or even of someone persistently attracted to 14 year olds (the other ones were 16 or above, as I recall, which is now considered legal hitting-on age in the US, is it not?) In his case, it's mainly his nauseating religious hypocrisy that makes me glad he got smacked down, although of course I'm sorry that a liberal Democrat is now senator from Alabama.
