Can we deport Canadian DACA "kids?"

There are 750 Canadian 'Dreamers' facing possible deportation from U.S. after Trump decision

She’s lived 21 of her 27 years south of the border, after all, and in the red-meat heartland of Texas, no less.

Yet a contentious decision by President Donald Trump to cancel the so-called Dreamers program for illegal immigrants who came to the States as children means Dhalla could soon be deported to a country she barely knows – Canada.



Now really, what is the excuse for keeping these people in the US? Because the US is "the only country they've ever known?" Because they won't speak the language? They won't know how to be polite?

They'll be perfectly fine in Canada. In fact a Canadian senator wants all of the DACA people deported sent to Canada. Sounds like a win/win to me.

 

Absolutely, but not the Norwegian DACA people.

 

They'll be much better off in a society that does not require constant global warring and drug money laundering to stay afloat economically, and they'll have access to healthcare and higher education. Win win indeed.

Agree. Send all the illegals to Canada. Of course, once they flood Canada, the Canadians will change their minds just like they have done with the Syrian refugees.

Canada hasn't changed their minds on syrian refugees. We took in the over 25,000. In 2017 refugee numbers were down because we can only absorb so many at any one time.

As for Canadian DACA, they should be treated exactly like all others. Its an immigration status, not a racial/ethnic status.

 

Yeah, especially all those Israeli and Russian draft dodgers who have been escaping to and living in NYC for decades.

 

Great, then why don't you take all the illegals off America's hands. You can live your principles and show your kindness and do the USA a favor all in one. All you have to do is open your border and offer lots of welfare, and it will just happen. If you really want to live your principles, then set up free transportation from the US-Mexico border to Canada.

 

We must protect these innocent people from being punished by deportation.

Who knows what hardships they face if deported to Canada, a country they hardly know.

 

When you start taking in a million people a year we might start listening to Canada's bull****.

 

I see you ignore per capita. Gee. WE take in 300,000 a year. To reach that number you'd have to increase US immigration by 3 times to achieve the same level.

So perhaps you should redefine what you consider bullshit. Of course you wont, because then you'd have very little to say.

 

Clearly you're not doing enough to take care of the poor downtrodden people of the world.

With all that wide open Canadian land you have up there, you should be taking in at least 3 million a year.

To do less is just racist.

OUr immigration standards are MUCH higher than yours. We also have "chain migration" where non immediate family members have to qualify to those standards (with some minor exemptions) All of those also have to have a guaranteed sponsor that is financially responsible for the immigrant.

Granted our migrant worker problem is relatively minor in comparison to the US. Our illegal immigrant problem is substantive but not even remotely the problem it is in the US.

Apart from the EU (internally), are you aware of any industrialized country that has open borders?

 

Sounds racist not to take in anyone who can cross the border. Why is Canada splitting up families in that way?

I've read a lot of liberal posts over the years.

 

Canada wanted to show its big heart by taking in Syrian refugees, Trudeau was mad that Trump wouldn't just accept whoever the "progressives" (both US and non-US progs) wanted to let into the US. Trudeau wanted to poke the US and Trump. But you can show your great compassion by just taking in all the illegals in the US.
