Can we have an honest talk about the Elephant in the room?

I know around here we have a tendency for the sake of civility to say, “yeah, but both sides do it”, however, if we take an honest assessment of what is actually going on in this country there is one political party that has clearly gone off the rails. There is clearly some alarming and violent displays of civil discourse occurring across America and by their very rhetoric, it is plain as day they belong to the alt-reality party of the tRump.

Never mind the disruptive and deadly consequences of entertaining these anti-maskers and antivaxxers. Their mission appears to be to upend just about everything that makes us Americans. Whether consciously or unconsciously, the modern Republican Party has become a death cult that wants to bring this country down. Already, we hear reports from the FBI that White Supremacists were studying the Taliban’s actions during the Afghan pullout in order to do the same here.

From Republican politicians, the Texas abortion ban displays another full-frontal assault on the will of the majority. Who here can honestly say that the Jan 6th incident is the last time we will see this flagrant disregard for democratic principles?

Are there any moderates left in the GOP? Has it become so corrupted by demagoguery and apoplectic displays that we are doomed as a nation to even allow the government to do its basic functions?

Do conservatives honestly believe they can impose their minority opinion on the rest of us?

Where does it end?

 

It will end on November 8, 2022 when Repub's take back the House and Senate and actually start impeaching the traitorous Democrats

Ask Steve Bannon, Steve Miller and the Mercers, etc.

So you’re in favor of an authoritative govt. I for one don’t want ANY party to be in charge just for that reason. There is a reason the founding fathers set up our govt with checks and balances. We should all thank them for such.

It’s odd that you call republicans a death cult and in the next paragraph call a ban on abortions (deaths) an assault. You mention the imaginary white supremacists without mentioning blm, Antifa and progressives who rioted for a year. The majority of this country favors voter ID, yet a vocal minority is preventing it.

It won't. The goal is to go back to 1800 and have women barefoot and pregnant and all the "undesirables" exported anywhere but *their* country. They don't mind exploiting them but treating them equally just won't happen. They claim to not be bigoted WHILE being bigoted.

Trump is their hero because he holds the same basic ideas of everybody that doesn't look or love like him. We all know and witnessed that he'd rather burn the place down than try to use his influence to calm the waters. He thrives on chaos and destruction and he has several million of them that worship him for it.

Checks and balances prevented Trump from being removed from office. This is where you thank the founding fathers for checks and balances.

 

This same logic works both ways. The lack of checks and balances in the house, in addition to a low threshold of simple majority, is what led to Trump being impeached.

If the DNC politicians didn't act like thugs, we'd have less of that type of talk. It's a reaction to tyranny, corruption, and debased behavior. And, on the course DC is on currently, there will be more of it, unfortunately.

The system worked. There will always be a majority in the house and senate. What we don’t want is the majority in each to be the same party.
So he was impeached. Big deal. At the end of the day it doesn’t mean much.
