Atheists are necessarily philosophical materialists. But they either don't know, or ignore the fact that this is a philosophical assumption. So, their beliefs is based upon little more than an assumption. Just like the theists do.

There is some research about to kick off in physics that is looking into reality being based upon information, not matter. Depending upon how they turn out, we may see a paradigm shift, moving from materialism into an information based reality. If reality is info based, then that opens up the possibility that the source of that info is....well, fill in the blank.

 

I'm sure you don't remember, but I'm going to pass, I have no intention of spending the weekend with you.

 

I will take that reply as an admission that you simply did as usual and made something up, just so you are aware this is usually referred to as dishonesty and hyperbole which is generally frowned upon in debate or discussion. To be sure, even if the vast majority of liberals don't engage in it themselves, it takes a certain amount of cogitation for those they elect to do their thinking for them to rationalize absurdities; whereas acknoledging self-evident truths doesn't require any at all.

Damned if I know why any research is necessary at this point, seeing we've had a pretty good idea of the dependence of matter on information for its existence for over a century.

Sure, it has changed too, but they still represent the same kind of elites as always, while the dems once represented all of the non elites and stopped doing that. And this was the most drastic change I have seen in my long life.

Jesus impacted on government so government killed him. He was more resented by the Jews leadership than the Romans, yet it was the Romans that killed him.

Democrats do not rush about caring for strangers. If they did, there is no need for Government to do it. Government is not charity. I happen to like charity but not when Government does it.

When I was a Democrat, believe me, I too preached how selfish the republicans are. Boy was I ever wrong. So I changed parties.

So let's check on our founders.

Schooling? No, not included.
Passing so many laws one forgets what freedom is like? No, but the Democrats do this to this nation. Daily they call for law stacked upon law. Each passed law is only a hint of the next law. Democrats deny the amendments are operational such ss the 2nd amendment. Yes, the founders so believed in guns that they enshrined them in the constitution declaring them to not be infringed. Democrats understand do not infringe to be pass bunches of new laws.

Income taxes? Gee no, the founders set it up not to impose income taxes. So what do Democrats do a lot of the time, want more and more taxes. We have about 100 taxes not imposed by the founders yet imposed by Democrats. I am pleased i quit the Democratic party.

1) Liberals in general are not "communists" ?
2) A political philosophy that removes religion from the realm of Gov't is not incompatible with the teachings of Jesus.

Now if that political philosophy actively persecuted religious people - simply on the basis of practicing that religion (sans actions that were illegal under state law) that would be an anathema to the teachings of Jesus.

This is why I asked for specific policies - without these it is impossible to ascertain whether or not they conflict with the teachings of Jesus.

 

I repeat over and over, they are not Liberals. They who vote Democratic party are true Authoritarians.

Want a new law? Alleged liberals have plenty of laws to impose. Who imposed close to 100 taxes on Americans? It was not republicans. Who wants taxes to increase? Not Republicans.

 

I can't ascertain if evangelicals support Trump on those issues, but if they do support him, it has to be due to the screw up Obama and how he ineptly managed government.

I would have phrased it, "look at the way conservatives treat illegal immigration". To me, they treat it far more appropriately than do liberals. The bible does not promote breaking the law, or being complicit with those who do break the law. So don't pretend that illegal immigration is something that anyone should be supporting. In fact, most of the fat-cat liberals complicit in flooding their communities with illegal immigration, at the expense of legal citizens, are themselves living in gated communities. So let me know when they decide to open their gates for anyone wishing to parade on in, at their personal expense!

As I recall, Solomon had multiple wives and multiple concubines, and King David committed adultery; yet both are revered in biblical tradition. Personally, Trump is no saint, but politically he is as pro-Christian as any president we've had in recent history. If a political tree is known by the fruit it bears, then Trump should be known for his pro-life, free-exercise-of-religion stances; and for not embracing the imposition of sodomite marriages upon an entire nation. Stances you will never see advanced by a liberal president.

The bible also says you can't serve two masters at the same time, so I don't see how anyone could serve liberalism and Christianity at the same time. It would be like trying to mix oil with water. Conservatives have many flaws, but trashing the basic tenets of the Christian faith, as liberals do, is not one of them.

No doubt liberalism is divorced from true Faith and Spirituality, and likely much of conservatism as well. But that doesn't mean our overall human endeavors, be they religious or political, do not reflect our core faith and core spirituality. As James said, faith without works is a dead faith. So works do matter, and the works of liberals seem highly anti-Christian to me.
