The clinton crime family administration caused the DCM to become a private corporation, I bought a couple MI Carbines through the DCM and several from the CMP.

Sad, they will never sell the M14s.

I was working in a local gun shop when a guy came in and said they were cleaning out his uncle's house after his uncle had unexpectedly passed away in a motorcycle accident. The uncle had been a Vietnam War veteran, and they found a bunch of his military gear stored.... including a M14. The guy brought the rifle into the shop to see what it might be worth... and it proved to be an undocumented, select-fire M14. It broke our hearts to watch ATF confiscate it.

Ouch. Fortunate that no one was arrested.

Not until we get 6 Justices like Clarence Thomas who would strike the idiotic 1934 NFA down as the unconstitutional bovine excrement treason that it is

It was one of those surprising things, actually. The ATF agents who took possession of the rifle were surprisingly compassionate and understanding towards the parties involved. They were nothing but professional and polite, and spoke kindly as they explained to the nephew why they had to take possession of the rifle. One of the agents was obviously a real enthusiast, he lamented having to confiscate (and destroy) such a pristine specimen of a historically significant weapon.
