Moderators if this is too political I will repost on General Politics.

Not much enthusiasm for Trump from beatitude-minded Catholics. Appears that evangelicals are the only Christians who enthusiastically endorse Trump. How is that possible per teachings of Christ?

"Catholic support for Trump declines, according to latest poll"
    https://cruxnow.com/church-in-the-u...-for-trump-declines-according-to-latest-poll/

"NEW YORK - Two years into his presidency, President Donald Trump still enjoys high approval ratings from white evangelical Protestants, while Catholic support has declined.

A new analysis released on Monday by the Pew Research Center examining 11 surveys conducted throughout the president’s 26 months in office revealed a decline among white Catholics’ support of the president, with an overall approval at 36 percent - the same as it was two years ago.

Among white Catholics, polling from January reveals that support for Trump is down to 44 percent compared to 52 percent when he first took office. Nonwhite Catholic support for the president is significantly lower at 26 percent, however, that number is up from 13 percent in January 2017.

Comparatively, among white evangelical Protestants, that number is much higher, with seven in ten evangelicals still expressing approval for the president, and black Protestant support at 12 percent . . . "

It means nothing until you have a Democratic nominee to compare Trump against. Given some of the crazies in your party, don't get excited just yet.

How does one ignore the basic teachings of our faith in order to support Trump? Is it partly due to evangelicals not requiring a theological degree for the clergy?

What basic teachings are you referring to? Not killing unborn children is one. Not persecuting religious people as Obama did counts. As far as the poor, black and hispanic unemployment are the lowest in history.

How can you write pathetic justification for an overtly immoral man? This really hurts your credibility to speak as a Christian. Shame on you.

Oh knock off your judging. How do you say what is immoral, coming from someone who justifies the perversion of homosexuality? We aren't voting for pastor. Lots of presidents have been immoral, Clinton comes to mind, JFK had hookers in the White House.

Would you accept lies so cavalierly among your own family? To not condemn Trump is disgraceful. I notice you practice Christianity without showing any semblance of Christ. How is that possible?

"White evangelicals are the only religious group to support Trump" https://www.vox.com/identities/2018...angelicals-prri-poll-trump-presidency-support

"White evangelicals remain the only religious group in America to view Trump favorably according to the poll. While white mainline Protestants — which include historically progressive denominations like Episcopalians and Presbyterians — remain about evenly split over Trump, other religious demographics overwhelmingly say they view his presidency negatively. Fifty-nine percent of Catholics and a full 75 percent of black Protestants view Trump negatively, as do 65 percent of the religiously unaffiliated."
