    Patricia Arquette is aflame today
because Elongate Musk has announced that Democrats "have become the party of division and hate."

Film actors make their living pretending to be people that they are not, that is, their characters. They don't invent the characters, nor write their lines. They get their jobs based on their appearance and their ability to act, i.e., to pretend, convincingly. Acting is an honorable enough trade, if inferior to construction, farming and mechanics. But the opinions of actors are amplified out of all proportion to their importance.

A builder of electric cars and rocket ships, versus an angry actress with a megaphone.

    I like actors so much.

Just an observation, but I've noticed that actresses seem to go full bore activist once they've hit the wall. Patricia Arquette was stunning back in the day. Now she's a typical woman in her 50's. There is probably a lot of shock involved at suddenly not being treated as a glamourous star and instead having mom looks. Same thing with Ashley Judd and Alyssa Milano.

The only thing more annoying that celebrities are the righties who constantly obsess on every word they say.

    No one cares but you!!!

    100%. It's an adjustment disorder.

People attracted to that industry have shockingly low self-esteem to start with, so once that earlier - extremely unnatural - validation wanes, they're left with their very flawed self. Add in the failure to mature normally as a result of that earlier warped existence, and it's a recipe for loud 'activism'.

People do self select to go in that type of industry in which the standards of physical appearance are extremely high. Age happens, even to the most beautiful and if you build a career around it, the feeling of shock and loss must be terrible. Enough maybe to think you are worthy of attention for some other reason maybe.

They go in with huge deficits, never properly mature because they don't have to, and run up against middle age as hollow vessels.

The mad scramble to retain the same level of attention is the motivation for the 'cause', not the cause itself. If they matured enough to regard themselves as worthy of a different kind of attention, they'd understand that also means a different level of attention. IOW they'd be happy playing anonymous golf (or whatever rich semi-retired types do).

The arts are perhaps the only redeeming thing about humans.

Evidence in published form? Psychiatric analysis? Or is this just your crank opinion posted as a fact?

The product of the arts perhaps .. not the concept itself.
