    I guess, Trump, after attacking Germany over North Stream and the 2%, got Merkel a real disillusionment on realitoes ... because a little later he praised her again so much that the mucus was visible!
    As far as I know from unofficial sources ... therefore subject to correctness ... Trump has collected behind the scenes a significant, verbal ass kick by Merkel.
    Among other things, Merkel is said to have pointed out to him that the high US military spending has nothing to do with NATO, but with the global dreaminess of the US ... and the Europeans to present their own US military costs as a charge is ridiculous! She is right!

    Of course the 4.2% of US GDP spending on the military is to support the US's global hegemon and has little to do with NATO. Also Trump doesn't seem to understand re Nord 2 that the US alternative energy supply is more expensive that that being supplied by Russia already. Why would you change that if the US is not prepared to make their product priced the same - not to mention any deal made with the US can be on today, off tomorrow and no state can plan its future energy provision with an on again off again supplier.

    Are the euros ready to take down all tariffs between goods made in their country and goods made in the US?

    And spend a propper amount on NATO?

    Are the US ready to take down all tarrifs on EU goods and to accept and fullfill all EU demands and standards and declaration duty on goods?
    Are the US ready to fullfill all their NATO duties again, they have in all silence shifted to the Euros to do ... and in this context: Are the US willing that if Europeans do more, they will also gain more influence and decision-making on things (for example, must the NATO CinC allways be a US 4 Star General?)?

    Why not let the consumer decide if the want or dont want GMO crops?

    Just clearly label everything

    As for the military I see your point

    I dont want to disband NATO

    But letting the french or germans have command does make me uncomfortable

    If you remove california, you are even smaller.

    That said, you want us to Bring our Military budget to 4% now. This would make us 2nd strongest Military in the World. This would also mean that we demand more say in NATO. For example Military bases in USA, for example Alaska.

    You protect nothing. 67% of Germany want you Out. And UN Money? Are you kidding me? Germany is 2nd biggest donor to UN. You mean NATO. And NATO is Not about payments. If we raise Budget for NATo means we we Spend more for our military. And this Money would flow into German arms Corporation.
