Not by me but you have been very judgmental of my views on adult time as this post of yours exemplifies.

and there's nothing wrong with that, it is your way, but if you ever recieve an invite from blaster, please rsvp decline to attend, it'll be best for all concerned, especially the unwanted children...

btw, this isn't restricted to toddlers, blaster has a policy against bringing anyone under 21...

I finally figured out that the closest I can ever come to achieving contentment and enjoying peace in this life is by avoiding all "social events" entirely! And, in addition to the noble German composers, I have grown very fond of the Italian composers as well... (nearly all classical music written BEFORE the 20th-century).

This thread is for a discussion about "Child Free Zones on Private Property". Long ago, I expanded that concept to the creation of my own private zones, which exclude obnoxious, disgusting ADULTS, as well as their offspring....

Afterthought: There are approximately 7.8 billion living humans on this planet today... double the population of 1973! And it only takes a small percentage of them to be inconsiderate, uncouth morons and azzholes to make life miserable for the rest of us....

I raised six children and after they started moving away I started coaching Junior High Volleyball for a dozen years. I like the sound of kids and the chaos that they bring. I cannot empathize with the blue hairs that have so long forgotten their past childhood that they cannot derive joy in watching kids play. With that being said, I am in favor of events which exclude children so that I can avoid those events and the people who attend those events. I am still too young to be shoved into a grave and I haven't forgotten the joy of childhood.

Of course there are some just really awful children out there who are feral and devoid of the normal fetters of civilized society. I try to avoid those miserable souls and their parents, but that is on a strictly case by case basis.

Great episode and might have implications here.

hence this thread about having 'no children' zones... it's not about eliminating children from 'everything' & 'everyplace'... long time ago they made the 'matinee' just for kids, and all the later viewings were for adults, now screaming, whinin, cryin, unruly kids are at the 23:00 showing WTF!

Of course. But you don't take them to events and places where it's an issue, obviously. At least we never did. We didn't make them sit in cafes, or libraries, or theatres. We didn't ship them around via public transport. I didn't drag them around the Mall because I needed my shopping fix. Etc etc. I didn't even take mine to supermarkets while they were toddlers .. leaving groceries to weekends or evenings (when one of us would go alone). Our outings were either at the homes of other young families, outdoors, or specifically suited to 'families'. Plenty of things to do without ever needing to discombobulate tightly wound non-breeders and old ladies ;)

Sad. Late teens/early 20s are an awesome age. Kids are super interesting at that point .. steadier, but still fresh and naive enough to think big thunks, unfettered by the influence of reality and responsibility. Listening to them is both a delight and revelation, and hilarious. You should lower your cut-off to 16, IMO.
