China has launched its latest crackdown against a phenomenon which just won't seem to die in rural areas - funeral strippers. The Ministry of Culture said last month that it was targeting "striptease" and other "obscene, pornographic, and vulgar performances" at funerals, weddings and traditional Chinese New Year public gatherings. The war on strippers at funerals has been a long one for China. Authorities first began clamping down on "obscene" performances in 2006 and launched a second campaign in 2015. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/02/20/china-wages-war-funeral-strippers/ So it’s official: Commies ruin everything. Rural China believes that bigger attendances at funerals help to honor the dead and bring them good fortune and the erotic shows pay tribute to fertility. It's a worship of reproduction, the erotic performance at the funeral is just a cultural atavism. But, when a small cabal exercise top down control of the masses, individual self-expression is prevented. Iowahawk tweets, “Oh great, now I have to go and completely update my funeral arrangements.”
What better way to console yourself over the loss of a loved one than to have a little fun and lighten the mood...
The Chinese government is hardly Progressive. Take a look sometime at their policies regarding gays, pornography, art censorship, etc. They are social conservatives.
stripping at funerals is communist praxis and the chinese communist party are revisionists for attacking rather than valorizing the recreation of the common man
Is it considered bad form to slip a dollar into a strippers g-string while she's dancing on top of the coffin?
The protective groups no longer are protective groups once liberals/progressive achieve political power.
