Chinese becoming the new upper middle class in Southern California

    The settlers that are coming from mainland China are very competitive and driven and are buying up real estate. The typical houses they are buying cost $600,000 to $900,000 but there are plenty of homes being bought for $1-2 million too.

    I wouldn't really say these homes are real mansions, since the property prices are so high in this region that type of money doesn't go as far, but nobody would disagree these are not big houses.

    As one can imagine, the schools in these neighborhoods where a lot of Chinese live have very high test scores.

    Things here are not that different from Vancouver, Canada.
