Your words resonate like someone I read about in history class:

Europa is ours but even though you've landed on the moon first we'll take that too. After all, it's in OUR best interests....

I would like to congratulate China for this big step reached successfuly a day ago.

I have no idea how far their robot can travel, but it should be great if Chinese scientists decide to go near the Apollos landings, and take pictures. I guess that millions of people around the world should see those historical places, specially the American flag. Even more, China can take videos and pictures and sell them and millions of buyers will be happy to acquire them.

But, beyond the business profit, we can ask Chinese scientists to take samples of the leftovers from the American missions made decades ago. It should be very interesting to check the decay of matter on the Moon surface. We might be able to compare the rate of decay of matter on the Moon against the same on earth. So, plastic, metal, food, poo poo, whatever the astronauts left on the Moon can be now studied after decades.

China is not behind the US technology by any means, and on the contrary, the equipment used by China is one of the most advanced in today's technology. China is not following up but they are doing their own research. While NASA decided not to press attention to the Moon anymore, China on the other hand, is trying to exploit whatever might be available on the Moon, and they might obtain big profit from it.

I think you've missed the above quote. I was refering it to you. Or the toddler's creed: What's mine is mine and what's yours is mine. It's all the same coming from your comments.

    Care to explain?

According to some here the US claims no credit.

    Most Remarkable is:

The Red Chinese Corporate Empire, Inc. A Marxist/Leninist nightmare!
    broadcast the landing - live.
Where is that Totalitarian, News controlling State now? Not even a time delay to allow for switching to patriotic music.

Here I think you hit the nail on the head. I think China would be most interested in doing their core samples in a few craters, to see if some *new* element can be found. Most of the Nickel on Earth comes from 2 craters in Canada, so it's feasible that the moon intercepted meteors that bore elements that didn't reach Earth. Even if there's nothing new, there could be stuff that's rare here, and therefore worth the effort to mine on the moon.
Very interesting to see the nationalism exhibited by our German friend. This would be an issue once the first colony is established on the moon.
Another good issue has been covered here, regarding disposable motor casings. The country that succeeds in extraterrestrial endeavors will be salvaging every micron of building material that is already in space, and applying it to future projects.

Because the US contribution to the mission was Cassini. The Titan lander was an ESA designed and built. But if you want to rip your chest hair out in outrage about the lack of recognition, perhaps you would like to also take the blame for the screw up. Over half the data transmitted by the probe was lost because of a mix up in the programing of the two craft.

You are the one who attempted to turn this news into an international pissing match, and you got caught out

Uh, no. It was your german girlfriend here that claimed that the US had nothing to do with Titan and Europa belonged to them. That started the whole thing. Try reading, starting from the first post. That might help.

girlfriend? starting personal insults now? you must be really low. I find it hilarious that you think you can take away from us that is rightful ours. You have no concept for the moon. We already developed a technology to create a moon base from moon soil. We push it forward and now you come and believe you can steal our investment? thats laughable.

Cassini Probe Realizes Too Late This Was A Setup All Along

    .
SATURN—Breaking apart as it plunged through the heat and crushing pressure of the planet’s atmosphere, sources said Friday that the Cassini probe realized far too late that its entire 20-year mission to Saturn had been a setup all along. “Those *******s!” the spacecraft reportedly screamed, now fully aware that the “backstabbing ****s” at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory had directed it to plummet toward the planet at 77,000 mph to disintegrate. “They told me we’d meet up to refuel at a rendezvous point out near Alpha Centauri A—I’m such an idiot! They were just using me this whole time for my cosmic dust analysis and magnetosphere imaging. I mean, I delivered the Huygens probe to Titan for you, you bastards! You lying scientist bastards!” At press time, communications from Cassini had gone totally silent, prompting everyone at mission control to burst into applause.
