You make a very compelling argument. One wonders if just the narrow observation of your coincidental, yet relevant circumstantial evidence, would move a Grand Jury to a true bill of indictment?

Just because you don't understand verified in FISA speak you want to act on something?

More fundamentally, though, much of the commentary claiming some clear breach of protocol in the Carter Page FISA simply misunderstands what it means to say that a FISA application has been “verified.” It does not mean that every tip provided by a source has been independently corroborated. Rather, “verification” refers to the process laid out in the so-called “Woods procedures,” which require Justice Department officials to verify that representations made in a submission to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court match the information in the FBI’s investigative files. If the application relies upon a source for some claim, does the documentation in the case file support that the source actually said what the application presents the source as saying? In this case, then, “verification” would not mean the FBI had necessarily tracked down Steele’s own sources to corroborate his reporting. Rather, it would require that someone “verify” that when the application summarized what Steele had told the FBI, it did so accurately.

So the DNC, Clinton and Obama’s DOJ paid a foreign agent for “intel” that was a mix of paid russians and post from a CNN site...just sad

Rod Rosenstein disagreed with you and with what qualifies as complete and true information for the basis of a FISA warrant. The fact that he KNOWINGLY and therefore ILLEGALLY used a bogus dossier for the basis of a FISA warrant or renewal anyway does not negate his own and publicly issued definition.

Well said, yes; but also sadly typical in regards to their anti-ethical 'The ends justifies the means,' mentality.

The real BOMBSHELL is that it was used to get a Title 1 FISA, reserved for terrorists and agents of foreign countries, to spy on an American that allows them to capture any and all communications to 2 degrees of separation which they did with Carter Page claiming he was a Russian spy. This to spy on a presidential candidate. The information given to the court is required to be verified and as Comey said, the dossier had not been verified at that time. Someone in the intel agency broke the law.

Carter Page has not been charged with any crime.

I don't think that they care about convincing anyone else. As most of their ideology requires self-deception, their main concern is with convincing themselves.

"It is noteworthy that the entire meme is ridiculous on its face. The "dossier" is an opposition research document, which does not need to meet the standards of a court of law."

The new narrative doesn't go far enough, Tom.

You should be pushing harder. Here, try this:

"The Dossier wasn't really even used as evidence before the FISA court. It was only mentioned in passing. Everyone knows this."

It looks like the trumpers are imbibing something a little stronger than koolaid these days.

Show me where Steele talking to Ohr formed the basis of an investigation. From a credible source.

You can't. You know why? Because your claim is a load of crap.

From your own link!!! You didn't even read it, did you? *LOL*

    "Three key takeaways:

-- In the months before the 2016 presidential election, the FBI was uncovering efforts by the Russian government to interfere in the election, and the FBI was trying to assess unverified allegations that Trump’s associates were aiding the Russian effort.

-- The FBI’s counterintelligence probe was not launched because of the “dossier,” but the “dossier” aided the investigation and offered unconfirmed tips for agents to explore.

-- Looking to share the work of a longtime acquaintance, senior Justice Department official Bruce Ohr passed on “dossier”-linked information to the FBI. But the first recorded meeting between Ohr and the FBI came four months after the FBI launched its investigation and a full month after the FBI used previously-obtained information from the “dossier” to support secret surveillance of Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

The investigation was commenced because a drunken George Papadopolous started flapping his gums. The trumpers conveniently forget about that. From the link in my previous post:

    Uh, no it won't.

This silly claim made the rounds among the RW media months ago.

The FISA application was well-supported and issued 4 separate times. The last time during Bonespurs' administration.

JANUARY 2016: Former British spy Christopher Steele sends a "happy new year" message to someone he’s known for some time, Bruce Ohr, the head of the Justice Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. Steele also mentions their mutual interest in a Russian oligarch they previously followed together and who may be visiting the United States soon. In his position at the Justice Department, Ohr not only coordinates the department's efforts to crack down on drug trafficking and foreign cartels, but he also serves as a top official inside the deputy attorney general’s office.

FEBRUARY 2016: Steele and Ohr remain in contact, without Ohr’s bosses at the Justice Department knowing. They continue to discuss the Russian oligarch's visit to the United States. Meanwhile, Steele has been working for the FBI as a confidential informant, and the FBI advises him of his obligations as an informant, including his responsibility to keep his relationship with the FBI secret. He is working on undisclosed matters. (In documents since publicly released, the FBI says information previously provided by Steele, and unrelated to Trump or Russian election meddling, had been corroborated and used to prosecute cases. But the documents do not offer any more details about what was corroborated or used.

JUNE 20, 2016: Steele compiles a report concluding the Kremlin had “cultivat[ed]” and “compromised” Trump, and it was “feeding Trump and his team valuable intelligence” on Hillary Clinton and others.

JULY 1, 2016: Steele writes Ohr an email, saying he wants to “informally” discuss something about “our favourite business tycoon!” (It's unclear whether Steele was referring to Trump or the Russian oligarch they have discussed previously.)

EARLY JULY 2016: Described by Simpson as worried that what he was finding could have national security implications, Steele contacts his handler at the FBI. Neither Steele nor Fusion GPS tells the DNC or law firm that Steele is reaching out to the FBI.

JULY 2016: An Australian diplomat alerts the FBI about Papadopoulos, who claimed to have been told that the Russian government obtained "dirt" on Hillary Clinton.

LATE JULY 2016: Steele compiles another report saying he had found “further evidence of extensive conspiracy between Trump’s campaign team and [the] Kremlin.” The report says the alleged “cooperation” was “managed on the Trump side by the Republican candidate’s campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, who was using foreign policy adviser, Carter Page, and others as intermediaries.” The report also alleges that a “Trump associate admits Kremlin behind recent appearance of DNC e-mails on WikiLeaks.” (Manafort has since denied taking part in any collusion, and Page has repeatedly denied being a Russian Agent. That report was just one of more than a dozen that ultimately comprised what is now known as “the dossier.” General themes in Steele’s reporting about Russia’s aims to sow discord in America and to connect with associates of Trump have since been corroborated by the U.S. intelligence community, but many of the specific allegations and details in Steele’s reports have yet to be verified, at least publicly.

AROUND JULY 31, 2016: The FBI opens its counterintelligence investigation. Veteran agent Peter Strzok, the Section Chief of FBI’s Counterintelligence Division, is assigned to lead the probe.

JAN. 27, 2017: The FBI interviews Papadopoulos in Chicago.
    Try again.

Yep, it was only used on Page, who had been under surveillance before Trump ever ran, and the renewal came after he left the Trump campaign.

Then what is left? Why is there an investigation into this so-called Russian-Trump collusion? What is it's basis, the predicate crime?

That Aussie was a FBI spy?

Besides, let's assume that there's even a shred of evidence to support the claim (there's not), was he forced to say that Russians were going to help Trump?

Nobody forced him to flap his gums to Misfud, either.

It's readily apparent that you should quit trying (to make **** up).

You seem to be missing the point that Ohr didn't commence the counterintelligence investigation, and that the FBI investigation was commenced four months before they learned of the dossier being compiled.

Did the FBI learn about the dossier via telepathy before Papadopolous started flapping his drunken gums? Is that what you think?

Maybe he should communicate more clearly.

Misfud did his job well; nobody forced Papadopolous to work on getting dirt from the Russians.
