The EU on the other hand has a competitive first world economy and is doing far better than we are on a per capita basis.

I don’t get spun up about your messaging or what other countries do. I’m content to live my carbon neutral lifestyle and leverage the wonderful gift of carbon I’ve been given to make a good living. I don’t really care what country it comes from as long as it keeps coming in quantities sufficient to facilitate me feeding a growing population. The last thing we need if we are going to keep increasing global population is less carbon and lower temps.

To be clear, I’m all for cleaner energy when it is economically and environmentally viable. But as long as more people are dying from below ideal temps than above ideal temps by a factor of 17 it’s going to be hard to get me emotional about global temperature increases.

I’m comfortable educating the world on climate and climate mitigation. There’s no hypocrisy here and I can’t control other people’s hypocrisy so see little value in discussing it.

However, if you wish to we could discuss the hypocrisy of the EU who is increasing ethanol imports hand over fist from the US and Brazil, essentially outsourcing those carbon emissions and adding them to North and South American balance sheets while maintaining their access to energy. It’s the same underhanded method California uses to outsource carbon emissions to Midwestern states.

 

Yeh, we brought prosperity and freedom to the world and used fossil fuels to do it. Evil bastards.
