Interesting study that supports what I've always thought and said in this forum. The true believers are so obsessed with AGW that any real environmental concerns get shoved aside as so called global warming sucks up all the oxygen in the room. Pun semi intended. These worriers and whiners and alarmist are at the bottom of the list of people that actually try to live in an environmentally conscientious fashion.

    Abstract
We conducted a one-year longitudinal study in which 600 American adults regularly reported their climate change beliefs, pro-environmental behavior, and other climate-change related measures. Using latent class analyses, we uncovered three clusters of Americans with distinct climate belief trajectories: (1) the “Skeptical,” who believed least in climate change; (2) the “Cautiously Worried,” who had moderate beliefs in climate change; and (3) the “Highly Concerned,” who had the strongest beliefs and concern about climate change. Cluster membership predicted different outcomes: the “Highly Concerned” were most supportive of government climate policies, but least likely to report individual-level actions, whereas the “Skeptical” opposed policy solutions but were most likely to report engaging in individual-level pro-environmental behaviors. Implications for theory and practice are discussed.

So this indicates that skeptics are more worried they might be wrong.

They feel guilty and try to make up for by personally being more active in environmental behavior. Classic overcompensation.

Seems like the warmers don't like this thread. More of that nasty inconvenient truth I guess.

Sucks to have zero credibility, eh? People don't even find your troll threads worth the time to laugh at. Like I said, you crapped your own bed, now you have to lay in it.

Golly....there is a study about people and climate change that in no way deals with climate change.....neat.

The study is an interesting insight into the minds of AGW true believers. They seem to want to go about their daily routine in a fashion less environmental than non believers and tend to want the government to force them to do the "right thing". It's a psychological study not a study on climate. What it really shows is it's a movement based on politics not on climate or the environment. It's the left that always wants bigger government and a government that acts like their mommy to tell them what to do and protect them from the Boogeyman under the bed so this AGW hysteria is right up their alley.

It is a study designed to produce results that match your own preconceived conclusions through cherry picked participants and data. I for one am what you term a true believer and do little more than recycle and use L.E.D bulbs....I also do not expect any changes in policy and know they would be ineffective regardless. Trying to debase the Al Gores of the world for living in modernity like everyone else while trying to do something is old and weakly pathetic, many who accept and understand this Climate Crisis also understand it is too late to do anything meaningful anyway.

We are all aware you think it's too late and we are all doomed. Most true believers think we can save ourselves by reducing C02 output but apparently few if any of them practice what they preach.

Lets just say your blanket statement is accurate....what would you expect all these "Believers to do?

Should they all just buy solar panels and stop using AC?

Good start yeah. Then they should trade in this big SUVs to take the kids to soccer practice, stop taking vacations on planes trains and automobiles, move close enough to work to bike or walk their daily commute. I mean is this a serious humanity threatening problem or not?

Guess that made sense to you but then again you think the world's about to end so I'll consider the source and move on.

Thank you and I'm still waiting for some true believer that thinks we can save ourselves by lowering our C02 output to explain why they believe but don't act on that belief.

Yes there are things I believe in and I live my life according to my beliefs unlike the AGW cult that lives their life no different or even worse than those who don't believe in AGW. Apparently to be in the cult you just have to say the right stuff but not actually do it.

Well, that's an ignorant thing to say. The very definition of a cult requires belief. What you mean to say is that people who talk one way, but do another are hypocrites, not cultists.
If you're going to bad-mouth people, at least do it in an intelligent manner.

I said what I meant. The AGW cult believes but doesn't live by those beliefs and yes I will agree with you that they are hypocrites

Please tell us all what you believe in and how you are acting on it?

Kind of off subject but I'll play. One thing I believe in is being as self reliant as possible. I built my own house with trees cut off my own land and milled in my own sawmill. My home is off grid solar powered and my water is gravity fed from a spring up a hill behind us. I hunt for our meat and my wife gardens and cans much of our food. Our heat us from wood also harvested from our own land. Total self reliance is of course a fantasy but I do everything I can to live in the most self reliant way possible. Happy?

Cool...good prepper actions. I was kinda asking about something pertinent to this discussion though. What big thing do you believe in that is remotely similar to climate change that you are changing your life for?

Your question was: "Please tell us all what you believe in and how you are acting on it?"
I told you something I believe in and how I'm acting on it. Game over.
