We've been through all this before. What discount rate did Stern and Garnaut use and why ?? And then read the book by Dr. Tol - "Climate Economics - Economic Analysis of Climate Change and Climate Policy" - 2014

 

So now anyone who disagrees with you is responsible for whatever anyone else who disagrees with you says...?

And you presume to instruct others on the scientific method?

Throughout her career. But we know from the Climategate emails that peer review in climate science has been utterly corrupted, so something has to substitute for it.

No I try to instruct people on the basics of critical analysis which is the core of academia and the platform upon which scientific methodology stands

I have yet to see that from denialists

Can you demonstrate that she does NOT have a conflict of interests?
There is only one paper from her that is a peer reviewed sceptical paper
Everything else is published through her blog rather than accredited traditional scientific channels so no I am not attacking her personally as much as holding her to a standard

 

The Cato Institute does not deny global warming. The first piece is incorrect at first inspection.

Dr. Curry is a highly respectable acclaimed climate scientist. When they attack her, they really reach a new low point. Great reply to one of the alarmists.

It is like attacking Koch who funds many universities. Now do they all teach the same climate doctrine? This is a religion to the believers.

 

Skepticism is at the heart of the scientific method, alarmist treat climate change as dogma.

 

You are suggesting to us all that a premier climate scientist can't make a living off hurricane forcasts?

Who then can make a living doing hurricane forecasts?

Are farmers not experts at what they do?

Judith A. Curry is chair of the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She runs a climate blog and has been invited by Republicans on several occasions to testify at climate hearings about uncertainties in climate understanding and predictions. Climate scientists criticize her uncertainty-focused climate outreach communication for containing elementary mistakes and inflammatory assertions unsupported by evidence. Curry is a regular at Anthony Watts' denier blog, as well as Steve McIntyre's Climate Audit, another denier site. She has further embarrassed herself (and her university) by using refuted denier talking points and defending the Wegman Report, eventually admitting she hadn't even read it in the first plac

 

Curry receives ongoing funding from the fossil fuel industry. In an interview with Curry for a October 2010 Scientific American profile[4], Michael Lemonick reports (pers. comm.) that he asked Curry about potential conflicts of interest, and she responded,

"I do receive some funding from the fossil fuel industry. My company...does hurricane forecasting...for an oil company, since 2007. During this period I have been both a strong advocate for the IPCC, and more recently a critic of the IPCC, there is no correlation of this funding with my public statements."

She is no longer chair since she was able to retire.
But she is very respected no matter what some blogger says about her. GT does not hire second rate professors.

 

And she takes fossil fuel industry money while supporting THEIR positions

Look, spend a lot more time doing this to the alarmists who rush about, hair on fire, telling us hell is almost overtaking us. Supposedly man that is blamed for this can't however control climate. So what is a normal dude not caring supposed to do? We see how the alarmists get it done. None too well.

 

I am not clear this "fossil fuel industry" has one view of this. I know that Dr. Curry is a professional and she is quite skilled at predicting hurricanes. Naturally part of the oil industry being at sea wants to get her views on hurricanes.

What do you expect her to do, stop making a living?

 

Let me get this. You forecast hurricanes. And for an oil company. So this negates your climate science career? Put those standards on all scientists. But even were you to, it means nothing whatsoever.

You take oil company money and say what they want.

Pretty simple.

Stop saying it and you lose money

But if your champion has so much knowledge in this field - why has she only one sceptic paper to her name?
