Probably housing costs are playing a big factor in this too. Housing costs in many parts of the country have gotten too expensive because of overcrowding and surging population, especially on the more affordable end that people like students would traditionally rely upon. Many colleges now are charging $15,000 a year just to live in a dormitory, and we are talking just the academic year. The students get kicked out and have to find somewhere else when classes are not in session.
Maybe they should get a part time job. My son took 10 hours of college per semester and worked 25-30 hours per week at a lumber yard.
How exactly is this Trump's fault? I was a starving college student almost 40 years ago. I lived off of grilled cheese sandwiches. There was even a few times where I had to make a choice between bread/cheese or beer.
