    I'm looking only at the gun deaths, and my questions all focus on trying to prevent people from killing other people. Dismissing that on the basis of other bigger and easier to deal with problems is kind of a red herring response to the questions I've asked.

    Whether they buy from licensed dealers who will register the firearm in the new owners name or they buy on the black market where no registration is necessary, they will get them with the giant borders the U.S. has. If they must buy smuggled guns then the Government will have NO clue who has what.

    then I don't think red flag laws are going to fly. Cannot take away someone's rights even temporarily without due process of law. And you don't want that.
    making threats is a crime just go ahead and arrest and prosecute them for that. There's no need to throw away the Constitution.

    This is the thinking. My rights to keep and bear arms should not be taken away because somebody else commits a crime. Why not go after criminals?

    Quite frankly, I don't think you care about deaths at all. You just want to take my guns, and will do whatever it takes to disarm me.

    Also in Canada people own rifles mostly. Rifle is not as easy to shoot yourself with. Your chances of ****ing that up are way higher.
