And we've had this debate several times and Vox as tried to imply the US provides Mexican cartels with all their weapons is a load of non-sense. Most of the weapons the Cartel use are WAY more dangerous than that you can buy here in the good ole US of A. Most of their weapons are fully automatic long rifles imported through Mexico's southern boarder. They are literally more weapon superior than the Mexican army. With a larger cache and in many cases, more advanced. They have access to RPG's, grenades, landmines, C4, Tank busters and even lethal drones.

They SHOULD be classified as a terrorist group and dealt with accordingly. This is the only battle we should be dealing with ATM.

 

In a country/culture where a tiny elite minority has always ruled over the lower class with an iron fist... I don't see it happening soon. The whole latino world is just an infinite succession of dictatorship with a tiny sliver of a democratic veneer on top of it to mask the horor below.

Legalize all addictive drugs and have the drug companies supply them. Then have free rehab with a push on education. Getting rid of the DEA and devote regular law enforcement to other crimes.crimes.

This would also take the income away from our gangs who kill in turf wars.

People on drugs would not give gangs and cartels billions of dollars.

I really wouldn’t mind seeing Congress declare war on the cartels. And then turn our intelligence resources and our special forces loose to find them and kill them.

 

The Spanish system was to appoint a governor and give him little in the way of money or support, they were expected to run a corrupt system, and as long as they towed the Party Line and didn't offend any higher ups, they were allowed to exist BUT the moment they crossed someone they wer prosecuted for the corruption everyone pretty much turned a blind eye to. The same system was/is being put in place by the Democrats/Socialist/Communist.. nobody can follow all their rules and regulations, but as long as they like you, (and you share your ill-gotten gains) they ignored your rule breaking.. AND use those rules to keep your opponents at bay... you see this clearly in the two tier justice system we have in our party politics today... an analogy: a Conservative will be prosecuted to the maximum for jaywalking, and a democrat will be given a pass for running over someone in a cross walk.

 

It will remain that way until the average Mexican citizen is able to take ownership of the problem. As long as it's the government's problem the mess will only get worse.
