Even police officers in this community put up hate signs saying 'No Second Homes'; The problem with these people is, they've missed the point entirely.
If you can afford a second home, then buy it; and it's the right of the land owner, and no one else, what you do with it.

Imagine, you reward yourself with a holiday home and then the locals try and drive you out without even refunding you!; They may as well be Socialists who feel entitled when they're not.

Nothing funnier than watching a loud london gobshite getting his lights knocked out by a cornish fisherman! Seen it happening for thirty years when the effete metro male meets a cornish man.

Or when that Londoner sues that Cornish thug because we have society and rights.
Charge that Cornish thug, give him a criminal record like he deserves, and then make him pay damages.

Yes the london cry baby would call the police, but would find that the locals never saw a thing! Stay in your socialist heaven with your socialist mayor, socialist MPs and woke plod. You surrendered your city to rich Russians and the immigrants who look after them. It is a different world in cornwall.

Yup, put the part vegetated mouth breather in his place, call the police, act like grown ups, not suffer playground rules or prison rules, and teach someone not to impose onto us like we lost WWII and they were Nazis; we won the war for freedom.

Don't let any retard think they can hit impose on your right to not be hit by hitting you and make them aware charges will be pressed. Simple.
If they disagree, they forego their freedom to "play with us" and have to "sit out" of society in a correctional institute because they were so stupid as to think they can just punch you and get away with it; how dare they violate your right to not be punched?! Press charges and sue for damages and victim support fund.

It's called Society, look it up, Cornwall might be disrespectful, but our rights still extend there too; otherwise, **** off to Uganda or Russia where they put up with that crap; comprende?

No one should have to suffer the imposition of an ignoramus who forgets themselves and where they are. That's why we have things called charges that find idiots incarcerated for forgetting this.

If I ever earn a fortune, I'd buy a holiday home there myself, if I wanted.
And anyone who got in my way will be dealt with accordingly.
This is my UK, and I won't suffer playground or prison or fascist rules.
You impose on my freedom, you're paying damages and going to prison.
You don't like it? **** off from England then init.

If I could buy this hotel at Land's End, The Land's End Hotel, I'd make it one big summer home and let my friends use it when I'm not and my domicile will be London. :)

Not just Land's End/Cornwall either, but, Whitby in North Yorkshire too, I'd holiday home it there as well, in England, if I earned a fortune..

There's nothing all that new about this. We've seen this for a long time in the North (Scotland, Liverpool, Manchester).

I actually don't see that as entirely unreasonable.

I wonder if they care about the effect immigration is having on home prices? There are a lot of people from the big cities moving out due to overcrowding and unaffordability who are moving to smaller cities.

If they're concerned about people who own second homes, there's probably a housing shortage and more people than available housing, which is driving prices up.

I think new builds would ruin the beauty of Cornwall and it's just supply and demand, but if locals act like yokels then the demand will drop and no one would want to holiday out there.

I mean, it's not like you could do Cornwall in a day from London, it's just not close enough; if you had the means to buy into a property out there you liked, I say go for it, without moving/just use it as a holiday home in Cornwall, if you could afford it and want it, do it.

    Gobshite.

A loud mouthed person usually from a big city who moves to the countryside with a bad attitude. Having insulted the locals by calling them hillbillys he wonders why he got a smack in the mouth for it. He then rants on about his rights and what neanderthals country folk are because he is so PC that he has no idea what "fighting talk" is and thinks insulting people is his right brought about by his enormous amount of money! He does not understand the local copper is just going to laugh at him and one day he will wake up with 2 ton of manure on his driveway.

Not to be confused with a Shitehawk which is a seagull in Cornwall!

Although they both squawk a lot!

If that were true, no one would want to live there and all that talk about Devon being the incest capital was misguided, if the cop is bent, then I'm sure Cornwall will be the butt of our jokes; no my friend, you assault someone in Cornwall for taking offence to their world view, they will call the police on you.

If they don't want to be called a Hill Billy, then don't try drive people out who buy second or third homes there; either play nice or accept what you are when you don't play nice; Local Yokel who hates outsiders from London if they buy a holiday home in the area and hardly ever use it.

No lie though, Cornwall seems nice and if I could afford it I'd consider buying that bungalow or, even better, I'd buy The Land's End Hotel there in Land's End with that view. Make that my Holiday Home/Mansion.

If someone is selling their house, they are going to want as much as they can get. If the locals cannot afford their price but an outsider can, then naturally the seller is going to take the higher offer.

As for the boat damage, that sort of attitude happens lot of places. Here in the US there is a lot of local tensions in places like the Chesapeake Bay area where people build multimillion dollar homes and then get upset when one of the lowly watermen shows up dropping pots off shore or fishing in front of their house.

Don't mess with the locals should be a golden rule but if the locals are police officers putting signs up saying you're killing them, then something's got to give; for fear of being punched and no one getting charged.

You ever seen that movie Deliverance (1972); it's like that with beaches and the ocean where you can go surfing in England/take surfing lessons. I love the idea of it though, plus they have their own regional food... I won't mess with any boats or nothing if I visit or owned land, but, I will call the cops if the neighbours feud with me because it's a holiday home and tell me to f' off back to Thornton Heath, I'd get the cops if they were threatening about it.

If some boats got destroyed, it's probably the result of a feud, and a cop who turned a blind eye when someone got punched, so, they lost their boat.

That isn't what the article actually said because it isn't what is happening. Try again.

It is not just in Feock where tensions over second homes and incomers are rising. Not far away, in St Agnes, a former police officer, Steve Ridholls, has put up a sign reading: “No more second homes (our village is dying!!).”

“Houses rarely come up for sale in St Agnes and they are gone in minutes,” he said. “Second-home owners come swanning down as if they own the place. If they intend to live here permanently, crack on and get involved. But it does my head in that some buy and leave their homes empty for most of the year. I can’t afford to buy here – I have to rent.”

    That's me quoting the article.

Sounds like it's exactly what's happening - locals being all Socialist who feel they own the land and complain that they can't and hate the supply and demand and free economy we live in.

Why should someone live in Cornwall if they want to buy in Cornwall for a Holiday Home? Have homes here and there around the world/country/city, if I could, I would.
