I would not recognise Fauci if he passed me in the street. Unlike you, I know how the average Joe behaves and so did Fauci and the SG. I could not care less about Fauci or the SG or the CDC. Unlike you I understood their points of views as their views come from living in the real world unlike yours. I don't read up on the CDC so another strawman fallacy from you. Why would I even care about the CdC when I live in the UK.

You said that there were only two people in this forum who believe masks work and good masks are better than crappy masks so another lie from you

And I've just looked at part of your conversation with dagosa and see that you dishonestly cut out the context of his post. That is another example of your MO

You are entitled to your unsubstantiated opinion. I posted facts and evidence in all my posts.

Anyone who claims cloth masks are superior to N95s or equivalent masks is outright denying science. Period.

Anyone claiming N95 masks were recommended against in the US based on shortages after the fall of 2020 is a denier of science and a denier of facts on mask availability.

Anyone recommending against N95s after the fall of 2020 in the US is a liar and a science denier.

Thanks for the predictable ad hominem from you. It’s always what you people do when none of the evidence supports your position. You can’t support any of your opinions with evidence. I’ve presented solid evidence for every claim I’ve made and you call me a liar. I invite you to present evidence any of my claims on masking are incorrect. I invite you to substantiate your claim Americans won’t buy disposable masks. I invite you to show evidence this claim is not an outright lie:
I invite you to show evidence of other PF members in support of wearing quality masks in opposition to “experts” recommendations against them.

Of course you won’t supply such evidence because it doesn’t exist. If it did you would supply evidence instead of calling me a liar after I have presented evidence for all my claims.

You wrote "I can’t believe after almost two years you and I are the only people on PF who believe masks work....." . I can show you loads of posts from posters showing support for masks as you seems to be too lazy to look yourself.

I can also show you loads of posts from posters who say that there are better masks than cloth masks as you seems to be too lazy to look yourself.

And yes, you did dishonestly remove the context of dagosa's post which was "Just because they filter better when new, doesn’t mean they’re the best option for the public who won’t buy a new one every three days or steam clean it." and he is right. Dogasa's are observations on the real world. Cloth masks used once then washed are better than using the same surgical mask or the same N95 mask for weeks on end never washing them

Those same posters do not support opposition to incorrect recommendations by the CDC. Supporting crappy masks is not supporting correct (evidence based) mask usage.
Those posters still support not recommending them to the public. There is one other PF member who has consistently advocated for quality protection but recommends respirators with replaceable cartridges. Which is good evidence based advice. But @CenterField and I are the the only ones I’m aware of who have advocated against the moronic advice from the CDC.
Sorry the context is there for anyone to read. You have. That context is irrelevant because there is no reason to re-use or wash an N95. It’s a strawman argument and completely irrelevant. It’s the equivalent of saying we shouldn’t wear masks because any mask maintenance is too inconvenient. N95s are cheap and available. He is not right. I posted you a link showing Americans were buying such masks until told NOT to. There is NO evidence Americans won’t use disposable N95s if not instructed not to. NONE. It’s you and Dagosa’s completely unsubstantiated opinion. I have given concrete evidence Americans will and do buy disposable masks. Face the facts. You have no evidence for your incorrect opinions that have killed many Americans. If you had evidence you would post it. Go ahead. I urge you to provide SOMETHING that isn’t ad hominem or unsubstantiated opinion. Go…

Can I recommend a nice boating holiday on the Norfolk Broads or a tour of the magnificent castles in Wales.
Staycationing is all the rage these day old bean.
No planet killing flights across the pond, suspect drinking water or nasty foreigners to deal with.

Love staycation, but want this as well.
Still, only 3 weeks till we go to the Canaries:cheerleader::banana:

Funnily enough my wife and I were only the other day discussing a walking holiday in Wales visiting the ring of castles.

I had a chance to do it 3 or 4 years ago. The castles are spectacular. Beaumaris and Harlech in particular.

Saw Harlech many years ago on a golfing break. I remember it was grand, but can't remember it.

Anti-vaccine groups are already pushing misinformation about kids getting Covid vaccines

"While children ages 5-11 are newly eligible to get a Covid-19 vaccine, some fringe groups have already begun pushing the kinds of misinformation videos that the modern anti-vaccine movement was built upon: intimate, unverified videos and testimonies of children with alleged vaccine injuries that are visceral and effective. Doctors and pro-vaccine advocates warn that the spread is about to get a lot worse."

Seems these anti vaxers don't care how long it takes t o get control of this pandemic..........or how many die and are affected b y it. Very self centered........

U.S. hits another wrenching milestone in the pandemic with 750,000 deaths from the coronavirus

"After more than a year and a half of staggering loss, the toll exceeds the populations of three states or the District of Columbia, according to Johns Hopkins University’s running tally of covid deaths. The latest wave of deaths was fueled by the delta variant, although cases and deaths have begun to decline in recent weeks."

U.K. becomes first country to approve pill to treat symptomatic Covid

"U.K. authorities approved the world’s first pill to treat Covid-19, the British government announced on Thursday. The antiviral medication, molnupiravir, was found to be “safe and effective” in reducing risk of hospitalization and death for those at risk of severe symptoms."

Pfizer antiviral pill reduced risk of covid hospitalization and death by 89 percent in high-risk people, company study shows

"The drug's effect was so convincing that an independent panel monitoring a trial of the drug advised it be stopped early. U.S. regulators are convening outside experts to make recommendations on an antiviral pill from Merck shortly after Thanksgiving."

Not sure. I feel its necessary so I guess I'm disappointed it has been stopped. Is their any precedence in America for temporary laws.

Don't mind a debate, its why we come on here.
I guess temporary does not mean a ticking clock, but one that gets reviewed and renewed monthly.
In this particular case it would be until the number vaccinated reach a certain agreed level.

SARS-CoV-2 variants are a consequence of an error-prone viral polymerase. Viruses exist & propagate as swarms of variants. But specific variants that evade the vaccine will emerge from the vaccinated population due to natural selection (ref- see C. Darwin, "Origin of the Species" ~ Robert W Malone MD

Delta variant hits New England states, largely among unvaccinated people

Covid-19 cases are up in most New England states, according to data compiled by NBC News, driven mostly by the spread of the delta variant among unvaccinated people. The situation is particularly striking in Vermont and New Hampshire, which have had two of the largest increases among states in the past two weeks.

CDC endorses Pfizer and Moderna booster shots for all adults, clearing confusion about eligibility

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky on Friday recommended Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna’s Covid-19 booster shots to all adults. The endorsement comes on the heels of a unanimous vote by the CDC's advisory group earlier in the day that stripped away the complicated and confusing criteria that had surrounded boosters.
