Coronavirus Policies Are Transparent Pretext for Totalitarianism

In every civilization that has ever existed, there is always a group of people who want to rule over society. But they cannot come right out and admit it - they need a pretext. And virtually every time, the pretext is supported by the same narrative: You need protection because you're in danger.

Sometimes, there really is a risk, but it's wildly exaggerated. Other times, a risk is simply made up or invented. Either way, the result is usually the same. As people become more scared, they become more willing to give up their freedoms in exchange for the promise of protection.

And it works. History proves this. Virtually every authoritarian regime that has ever existed used a similar strategy to seize, consolidate, and expand its power over society.

Today, that pretext is COVID. And those who wish to rule society have used COVID to get everything they ever wanted and more. Including, but not limited to:

• Obscene corporate bailouts worth trillions and trillions of dollars
• A near-total suspension of the legislative process and basic civil liberties
• A massive consolidation of the economy into the hands of a few politically connected corporations
• A large percentage of the population consuming hours of corporate propaganda from huge media companies and tech giants
• Increasingly granular monitoring of and control over the daily lives of the populace by governmental and corporate entities
• A deeply divided and agitated population that is constantly distracted by irrelevancies and red herrings

Even if you're one of these people who thinks COVID is super-duper-ultra dangerous, you have to admit (if you're being honest with yourself), that the overall policy response to COVID has been almost 100% in line with what a depraved ruling class would want and need to assume total power over our lives.

 

Sounds good. Now let's sit back and wait for the inevitable Trump's fault. Trump's fault. Trump's fault! Some folks must have bleak and empty existence.

And it was Trump's fault that the 6,000 Americans who died OF Covid became 200,000 who died WITH Covid, a metric that showed its face for the first time in 2020 to throw the election. This manufactured bull brought to us since Trump beat the entire weight of Obama's multi-million man bureaucracy and allies compliant with the Banana Republic of Obamaland in 2016.

~ I believe that the Wuhan virus catastrophe is being manipulated in America as an opportunity to experiment with social engineering. However it is only the "catastrophe de jour". The original main course is "catastrophic climate change ", and for dessert we are served "systemic racism". The end result is stomach upset and a headache that only big totalitarian government can cure.

I’ve talked to the “proles” on both sides of the Atlantic who are convinced that this COVID thing has been an experiment to see how much liberty people are willing to give up for some temporary safety.
There is resistance now on both sides of the ocean so now governments know the line. But the line should have been much tighter and much sooner.
