So the story goes according to the Daily Mail, (which is not always credible), that mercenaries of Academi are hanging the Saudi billionaires up by their feet and torturing them. Well let's face it, it's one way to get them to cough up the money.

    Prince Alwaleed, (
the one with the gorgeous ex wife Princess Ameera), was lulled into a false sense of security by Crown Prince Salman. Alwaleed's guards were overtaken, and he was grabbed when visiting the Prince... Lot's of hospitality there? (Isn't that against the Muslim faith?)

    If true, (
and who knows it might be after all the princes are not going to give up their money without some pressure), then it seems Salman the Terrible might have his reasons for doing so. The story has been going around for a long time that a Palace coup might be in the making.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Daily Mail is breaking what may turn out to be extraordinary story involving American Blackwater mercenaries hired by Saudi rogue dictator-prince Mohammed bin Salman to torture Saudi billionaires rounded up by bin Salman, in what has become a purge unlike anything seen in recent decades.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman must be worried that some of the royals rounded up during his “corruption crackdown” cash grab are holding out on him. Because the Saudi prince has reportedly hired a crew of American mercenaries who haven’t hesitated to employ an array of “enhanced interrogation” techniques.

They're doing a lot worse than that. ..if what the Daily Mail writes is true. But it is a British paper, so one never knows. They are all tabloids now.

I guess the Clown Prince is having his hey day. But then again, it is Saudi Arabia.

Who the US constantly partners with, arms and supplies with the internationally illegal cluster bombs, known to have a 90% collateral casualty rate in the field, that they rain down upon Yemen.

Not sure what to make of this. On one hand, it is Saudi Arabia, the most extremist Muslim country in the world, and I wouldn't put anything past those savages. On the other hand, billionaires are not easily captured en masse and CAN easily leave any country they choose. Unless the prince takes all of their billions away, such a move is likely to lose more money than a shakedown would provide, in the long run.

The Daily Mail is usually trash and sensational and often does not care whether what it is saying is true, I think it was them who said yesterday that it actually was Blackwater renamed Academi who were doing the torturing. They are also apparently in operation in Yemen and I am not sure I got that from the Daily Mail.

They have to agree to give most of their loot to Salman before they are set free - that is what the papers say. I guess a few days hanging upside down with someone battering your feet might do it.

Still seems like a pretty bad move. After all, a group of billionaires with common cause can also hire mercenaries. This prince may have just destabilized SA and instigated a coup. He has also pretty much ensured that anyone else with big money is going to get the hell out of Saudi.

That of course is true but like I said the papers are also saying he has Blackwater now Academi working for him doing the torture and also working for them in Yemen. People were saying he was getting rid of the billionaires before they could get their act together and he has apparently been asking for their money for some time. The papers are saying some are being released no longer with the financial ability to hire Blackwater.

That's not what is going on at all. This is Saudi Arabia's Arab Spring except reform and modernity is coming from the top down instead of from the street. Corruption is an issue just as it was in Syria, Egypt, Yemen and Libya.

I don't need the media to tell me he's torturing them (fake or not)

Alwaleed sold $1.5 billion of shares in 21st Century Fox shares before his arrest... maybe he knew the shakedown was coming and getting ready to buy his freedom

the other thing that interests me is that shortly after the big arrest fest Israel suddenly announced they are now ready to share information with Saudi Arabia... clearly Salman also cleaned out a Hezbollah nest somewhere along the line.

The last issue is the funding of extremism in the west, I would like to find out if he has now dealt with this but for obvious reasons it will be covered up.

Ever wonder what our relationship might be with Iran had we not toppled their duly democratically elected govt to insert one of our own for them?

You mean Operation Ajax in 1953.. We were involved because of the Brits. They were stealing oil revenues from the Iranian people. The Shah wasn't our guy.

Do you remember? The UK was recovering from WW2 and needed cheap oil. The Cold War was on and the speculation was that the Soviets would step in to the void. It was a stupid blunder, but it was also nearly 70 years ago.
