The death toll is not the subject?

It’s a balance between the death toll and the economy. And their death toll was horrific with no appreciable economic gain

The subject is the current death rate - not the overall death toll.

The claim on the table is that Covid is becoming less pathogenic as it mutates. You were on the right track initially in stating that this could be due to better treatment .. had you said that.

What you said is NONO NO -- it is defacto all attributable to better treatment .. so while we are in "backing up claims" mode - something I have already done in terms of the showing that the rate of death is declining big time in places like Sweden and Italy.

now time to back up your claim - prove that this decline is all attributable to better treatment (and know that the post where I present the numbers already refutes your claim)

compared to her neighbors, Sweden has a much higher death toll and death rate.

I posted the numbers .. The mortality rate in Sweden "Right now" - is quite low. Same in Italy -

Get the convo correct. Claim on the table is that the lethality of covid seems to be decreasing as it mutates. - You on a different Page Ron.

NYC also has a very low mortality rate now.

Sweden has voluntarily mitigated because of the horrific death toll. They gained nothing for all that death

There is also a belief that only a few of us are not immune to it. That immunity could be provided by a certain type of cold. That is what research seemed to find. People were immune to it if they had had the previous Sars but also others were immune to it who had not and a fair number. The fact that despite having far more deaths than her neighbours Sweden had a similar spike to other countries is what is making people think that. This was a very active virus. It appeared to have the capability to infect virtually the whole popution but in Sweden it had a similar peak to everywhere else. I think it is way to early to know if this is so and of course it may change again as well as the fact that people who survive it, a fair number of them appear to be suffering from long term consequenses.

Have you objected or spoken out against the deaths your tax dollars are causing the middle east including Syria?

If Sweden used the approach of its neighbors, they would far fewer deaths.

    epic fail.

less than 6000 deaths in Sweden with a population of over 10 million.

    That’s six in 10,000

Might be better to start worrying about things much, much more likely to kill people!

About 1100 deaths in Japan out of a population of 127 million which also chose not shut down so that’s about 9 out of a million.

Epic win without eviscerating their economy.

    Any questions?

The death toll was not horrible in Sweden - and they gained herd immunity.

Ten times the death per million of Finland and Norway...five times the deaths per million of Denmark

And as much or more damage to their economy as those countries that haven't paid that price

    EPIC FAIL

They are nowhere CLOSE to herd immunity.

Stop saying things that are not true

And their death toll was about as bad as the worst places on the planet

Closer than other nations - and your previous claim with respect to the Swedish death toll is false.

What do you mean "very high compliance"? Do you mean keeping the sick out of elderly homes? Sure. Do you mean wearing face masks? Not so much since right now only 10% wear masks. Be specific in your metrics cause generalizations will be called out.

But they are done with death, still getting illnesses, but their deaths are single digits to 0 right now. They also only wear masks 10% of the time. Their death rate per million is stagnant and probably will go down as those other countries that are opening back up will see a rise in deaths from a second wave. Right now, the medical field doesn't even know how many people were asymptomatic, or even immune because they had another type of covid (common cold) that made this disease seem like nothing. 70% might not be needed to reach herd immunity, 40% could be the magic number.

So what do you propose? hide in the house? Never venture out? Your message here seems conflicted.

Again... their approach cost thousands of unnecessary deaths for no economic gain
Their neighbors lost thousands less people and are enjoying those same numbers

I have gone through the specifics several times before so you'll have to excuse my generalisations.
One of the early figures that came out was a very high compliance with social distancing. Up to 90% stayed more than the recommended distance apart.
The bars and restaurants complied with these guidelines and ran at around 25% capacity running at a loss.

I doubt the dead feel much at all - but - saying silly things will not help with your inability to understand the subject matter.

Death awaits all of us. But we are alive right now and to hide out in life in the vain hope we don’t get sick dishonors the life we have been given.

Look at the statistics. This virus is so very very very unlikely to kill one!

Then look at the statistics of what is very very very likely to kill one!

If one must worry then worry about that but even these worries drive one away from passion which is life’s fuel!
