    Wrong.

The focus on obama is because the Trump haters and "progressives" keep lying about the debt under obama.

The US debt is huge, its going up under Trump, and Congress isn't doing anything at all about it. There is only one solution - cut spending on entitlement programs. Medicare, social security, Medicaid, are the big problems but the pols aren't going to touch them out of fear and greed.

What a load, do you have plenty of air freshener to live with that stink? Social Security, Medicare and SS disability is not an entitlement program it is a program people PAY FOR out of their wages for use at a later date in life.

Yet Oblama is NOT president Trump IS and the Congress is controlled by the GOP. Stop trying to blame Oblama and the Democrats for what Trump and the GOP is doing, which is no different than what the former govt. has done..
Trump ran a campaign on the promise of eliminating the debt...It's not happening, in fact they have increased spending and the debt with the tax cuts...

Because on is relevant and the other is not. You can’t compare dollar amounts across a 40 year time period. You have to compare percentage.

No question. Republican incompetence is expensive to clean up. But he is nowhere NEAR as bad as bush and Reagan were.

It wasn’t $9.3 trillion. And he doesn’t hold a candle to Reagan or bush when it comes to debt.

Social Security, by law, WILL be cut when when the trust is depleted and the incoming revenues are incapable of continuing the payments.

No President can eliminate the debt, and most members of Congress, regardless of Party affiliation, are more focused on their longevity in elected office.

Exactly yet they run on a campaign promise to do the opposite. So they are all complicit, both parties.

Wrong. Social security is a Ponzi scheme, there is no lockbox full of all the cash you paid in over the years. Medicare is the same. Medicaid is for poor people and is a straight entitlement program.

And all 3 are in poor financial health and headed for collapse. Politicians have known that and since the 1980s have had committee after committee to address it.

If the obama sycophants will stop lying about the massive debt obama created, and will criticize obama for doubling the national with the same venality they criticize Trump, then everyone will stop pointing out the lies and hypocrisy related to the obama sycophants.

Trump promised to cut the debt, I'm hoping he will. If he does not, I will criticize him. obuma doubled the debt and hugely expanded the govt, it will take time to reverse those mistakes.

Tax cuts are good for the economy (tax revenue is UP since the tax cuts), and it is one part of cutting govt. I don't care it tax cuts go for everyone or just the top 1%, I will support them.

Percentage is a fools approach. If you want to compare over time, use inflation corrected data. But you wont because it will show obama was a disaster, the worst President ever.

It was $9.3 Trillion. I gave you the link to the govt site that shows the actual debt. The facts are at your fingertips, and they ruin your bias, so you close your eyes.

Not a chance. Social security is a huge political hot potato and political football. Its a drug that has addicted the elderly to the govt handout.

Irrelevant. The truth is what it is, and the lies of "progressives" and obama sycophants cannot change it. You can ignore the facts, you can bury your head in the sand, but the facts wont go away. All you are doing is removing what credibility you have.

Simply stated a fact, Social Security is the one program that was created with spending controls.

It was also an off-budget item until the Regan era when Congress started screwing with it.

I just showed you he was nowhere near as bad as bush or Reagan, lol.
    .

    no you didn't. I did.

The only ones lying are you guys. Obama did not double the national debt. He did not add 9.3 trillion. Was he bad with debt? absolutely. He was nowhere near as bad as bush or Reagan though.

tax cuts are only good for the economy in a recession, as a temporary stimulus. It is a mathematical fact that tax cuts decrease revenue.
because you swallow right wing propaganda, and ask for more. We have 40 years of evidence that shows tax cuts for the rich do nothing for the economy, other than redistribute wealth to the richest 1%.

    The exact debt is here
    https://www.treasurydirect.gov/NP/d...tYear=2009&endMonth=01&endDay=01&endYear=2017

    Total debt on 20 Jan 2009 = 10,626,877,048,913.08
    Total debt on 20 Jan 2017 = 19,947,304,555,212.49
    Debt increased $9,320,427,506,299.41 under obama.

Straight from the govt. So stop lying.

I live in True Blue countryside, despite relatively high poverty rates. They cheer tax cuts, despite receiving no benefit. Reminds me of the John Stuart Mill quote: "I never meant to say that the conservatives are generally stupid. I meant to say that stupid people are generally Conservative. I believe that is so obviously and universally admitted a principle that I hardly think any gentleman will deny it"

and you can't add all of 2009 debt and attribute it to him, as most of that debt is bushes, form the 2009 budget, which Obama had nothing to do with. So, stop lying about what Obama added. He did not add 9/3 Trillion. Sorry.
