DACA compromise I'd be OK with.

I did not stipulate a timeframe. You are trying to move the goalposts. Also, I'll assume that since you cherry-picked solely this point from my larger post that you either agree or concede.

So in other words, no. You don't have proof.

Ok fine. I was trying to be easy on you. Let's stay with what we were discussing then: one guy who lived here for 30 years. Is that more suitable? You made the asinine statement; now you defend it if you can. But we know you can't. He contributed to society and cost you NOTHING.

Wrong assumption. I'm getting tired of your assumptions and speculations that you present as facts.

It's known that she worked for her without the legal documentation required to be paid legally. Therefore, logic dictates that he paid her illegally.

I know logic is foreign to Trumpers, but this one seems rather basic.

You should change the title. This isn't a compromise, it's an alt right wet dream.

OK, we're veering off topic here as this thread is not about this specific illegal alien, but I will go down with this road with you.

You fail to understand that illegal immigration is an ongoing offense not just a one time criminal act like robbery. Without a visa or green card, foreign nationals have no right to be in the U.S.. Since they have no legal authority to be here no matter how many years they hide in the shadows, deportation is the remedy. There are many studies out there regarding the cost of illegal immigration - I am not satisfied with any of them because every study I've seen comes from some political think tank with an obvious political agenda. However, the CBO did produce a report in 2007 in which they concluded, "the tax revenues that unauthorized immigrants generate for state and local governments do not offset the total cost of services provided to them" but "in aggregate and over the long term, tax revenues of all types generated by immigrants—both legal and unauthorized—exceed the cost of the services they use."

    For your convenieince: https://www.cbo.gov/sites/default/files/110th-congress-2007-2008/reports/12-6-immigration.pdf

(The above is known as a "citation.")

Here in California, for example, illegal aliens can get in-state tuition or even free college where an out-of-state U.S. citizen would pay the out-of-state rate. I am subsidizing illegal aliens using the universities I already pay for. Students in Arizona, Utah, Michigan, etc. who might want to attend a CA public university are also subsidizing illegal aliens to go to the schools that they would have to pay full price to attend.

Oh, well then where are your replies to the rest of my thread??

You obviously oppose the rule of law. I think what I am offering is a fair compromise which effects the necessary criminal penalties on known law-breakers and does not penalize individuals who though are out of compliance with the law, are such through no fault of their own. I can't imagine a more fair solution.

Jorge Garcia is a DACA case.

Show evidence that persuades you that I fail to understand that. Absent such evidence this is equivalent to name-calling.

That has nothing to do with Jorge Garcia. You lose due to being unable to stay on the subject that you begin with.

No, he's too old for DACA.

How quaint. Especially in consideration of your third-grade snipes about "a steady diet of right wing garbage" or whatever tripe you offered instead of an actual argument.

Uhhhhh.... hello???? Is this thing on? You're joking right? JORGE GARCIA IS NOT THE TOPIC OF THIS THREAD.

You asked me how illegal immigration costs me and I stated so specifically. This is just getting pathetic at this point.

Yeah, if Trump and the Republicans cave on that, I will quit voting for them until they are all gone. I will either abstain or vote indy.

    Cute, but no.

Again, this isn't a compromise. It's an alt right wet dream with 0% chance of happening.

Dems lost, they can't threaten a shut down every few months, its over. DACA will die out and Dems have only themselves to blame. If there was real support for DACA the shutdown wouldn't have ended, but that myth turned out to be false. I hope the Dems do try to shut down the government again for illegal aliens, they'll lose every Senate seat up for grabs come Nov...

According to liberals under political correctness. at the time Melanie was a woman, a foreigner, possibly an illegal alien if her visa wasn't valid and she wasn't an American citizen but a foreigner so Melanie falls under as being part of a protective group.

Spin it all you want. You are opposed to the rule of law - otherwise you'd be demanding your elected representatives enforce the law instead of giving a pass to a class of criminal who happen to have your sympathy.

The non-compromise would be mom and dad in prison + fines and kiddos back to whatever country mom and dad smuggled them in from.

That's why all of the amnesties that have come up for a vote in Congress during the past 17 years were defeated in the House of Representatives.

So you're saying tat the Republicans will continue to fund the government week to week and that they can' be trusted to keep to their word and that they have no intention of passing DACA under any circumstances.

    Right.

    Got it

What does funding the government have to do with immigration reform? Nothing. Democrats chose the wrong thing to try and force their hand. DACA is going to die because one Republican is keeping his word. I'm not overly concerned if establishment monkeys keep their word or not. Trump gave them a deadline to fix it, its up to them to fix it or not. A failed read on the shut down is what is going to kill DACA, Democrats pushed and lost BIG, they have no leverage and the American people just aren't that into Dreamers...

    A. Why are we "funding the government" from week to week?
    B. Anything can be put into one of these bills
    C. If DACA isn't included in "must pass" legislation...Republicans simply will not pass it and these kids are subject to deportation in weeks. In fact many are already being deported
