I have often wondered why German-Austrian things are called "Danish Pastry".

    Now I know.

And what of it do you like?

To be honest, I don't remember. I was in Vienna almost 50 years ago.

But I can tell you the quality of the food was quite good, as it across much of Europe. For example, you walk into a corner store in Vienna, you will see something that looks like a Ring Ding. But it will taste better than most restaurants desserts here in America.

That's because you can't just open a factory. You have to take a difficult 3 year curriculum to make desserts, and then follow strict regulation afterwards.

I lost over 40 pounds in 6 months living in Europe. And the food was really good, but you walk more, and eat less, and you don't even notice it.

What she is showing here I know in Germany as a "Rosinenschnecke" - a raisin "snail". :)
