    I hope she lived a happy life. I never really watched Gilligan's Island but I have heard about the Ginger or Mary Ann debate. People often liken the Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson or Betty and Veronica rivalry in comics to that original comparison.

    But you can only use the supplies and appliances she had on the island... I.E. Nothing except coconut....

    She was actually Miss Nevada in real life, so there's that....

    Bigger celebrity losses in 2020 for sure (Sean, Eddie, Kobe), but Mary Ann was a piece of my childhood.

    Hope Maureen McCormick is hanging in there....

    Died of "covid-19 complications.

    People "die of cancer." "Die in auto accidents." Die from COPD." But they don't "die from covid 19." The die of "complications from covid-19." The wording difference is curious, isn't it?

    I don't see the mention that Dawn Wells had a gofundme page for medical bills in 2018. I think that is why they - as nearly always for covid-19 - have the qualifier of "complications from covid-19" rather than "died from covid-19."

    That's a shame. Not only was she gracious every time I saw her interviewed, everyone she worked with went out of their way to say what a pleasure she was. Mary Ann by a mile over Ginger.

    It was only a 3 hour tour? Were they not ship wrecked on an isolated island some where? How did they stray so far from the mainland?

    Google " The lyrics of Gilligan's Island", the title song tells it all. Given all the luggage they had the "tiny ship" should have been as big as the Queen Mary!

    Well, they left from Honolulu, so I'm not sure that qualifies as the "mainland"... even with a big storm, I'm not sure where they could end up...

    As I recall, they usually had pretty good radio reception...

    My personal theory is that Thurston had embezzled from somebody and he and Lovie were try to flee the country, in case his Presidential Pardon didn't come through....

    Could STILL happen however....

    Thanks for the suggestion. The video pretty much explains everything. I had always assumed they were survivors from a cruise ship sinking or something like Lost with a boat.

    DANG! IT, NOT! Mary Ann. She was one of my first childhood crushes, God! I would have loved to be on a Stranded Island with her. This is one of the lame parts of living a long life, we get to see Icons of our Youth begin passing from this Earth.

    Unclear since they went back to the island after being rescued and found that they were just out of touch with modern times. Think that was the very first thing I watched on a Roku. Think it was called Return to Gilligan's Island or something like that.
